I would like help resolving this problem. I'm a novice who's been
hired to query a hospital database and extract useful information,
available to me only in a dynamically generated, downloadable .mdb.
The query below query runs correctly and without error, but any
attempt to save it causes Access to crash without a message, leaving
the .ldb file. Opening the DB reveals it saved a blank "query1".
I've upgraded to Jet SP 8, and I'm running...

I donot understand why it is this way.
I have an arraylist.
I understand I can get the count by arraylist.count
in .net studio, intellisense also gives me arraylist.count.tostring()

Hi fellow bitwrestlers,
I have a legacy COM component that performs realtime autentication and
authorization against a credit card payment provider. They do not provide a
native .Net implementation. I've read everything I've found on how/if I can
best use this component in a high traffic ecommerce site built with .Net,
but I haven't totally convinced myself (or my boss :-) ) yet, hope one of
you can!
My conclusion is that I can use this...

When using VB6 COM objects on a ASP.NET page, and having the @Page directive
with the AspCompat attribute set to true, it causes an error like "Method
'~' of object '~' failed" or "Object reference not set to an instance of an
object".
The scenario is:
- Windows 2003 server
- IIS6
- Framework 1.1

I noticed today that when I have an ASP.NET web page with AspCompat="true",
the CCW count tracked by the peformance monitor increases every time the page
is loaded. Clicking refresh causes the count to increment. The count grows
into the hundreds before it drops, but it never drops back to 0.
Can anyone explain what's going on? For what managed object is a CCW being
created? What impact will this have on memory usage?
I'm in the...

Hi all,
Got a question about the AspCompat=true page property. First a little
background. We have an ASP.NET app that uses two COM components. The first
is the Microsoft OWC 11 components and the second is a custom VB6 COM
component. So I was reading about AspCompat=true and it seemed like it would
be a good fit for our app. From what I can tell both of the COM components
that we are using are STA and we are creating the components in...

Hi.
I have an ActiveX DLL, developed in Visual Basic 6.0 and I need to use that
DLL inside an ASP.NET application, developed in Visual Basic .Net 2003.
My problem is that in my machine I get the error "QueryInterface for
interface ... failed" when I try to use same method of the ActiveX DLL. I try
the same application in another machine and everything works fine. I found
that if I set the "AspCompat=True" attribute in the page the...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
