We have a webservice that we have been deploying using the deployment
project in Visual Studio. Now we are trying to deploy this service to
a server that has multiple sites. I have looked everywhere in the
deployement project to see where I can allow the person installing to
choose the root, but I can't find anything.
Is there a way to install in a desired root using the deployment
project? or is Visual Studio installer more of a...

I have created a web application that uses a custom control and a web
service on my local system. I have gotten all of the bugs worked out on my
local system and now it is time to move it to the sever. I have tried
copying all of the files and folders within my application folder. I have
even tried building a web setup and installing it on the server. The problem
that I am having is that my web service is still looking for the web service...

I am trying to deploy an app to a WLBS cluster. We've been testing on our QA
WLBS cluster. In VS.NET 2K3, I typically use the "Copy Project" button to
copy the project to the next tier. This is the first ASP.NET app that is
going on the production cluster. I've been writing a testing (and deploying
from dev to the QA cluster) quite a bit.
When I try to copy I get "Internal Server Error" from BOTH servers (I try
copying to each...

HI, I know this might be very basic, but I have a asp.net site that I need
to recompile. I do have asp, net, although I have no idea how to use it. I
did see some info that I can use vbc.exe to recompile the site, but have no
idea how. Any info would be really appreciated.
Thanks

I want to deploy an asp.net application but I want the installer to be able
to specify the website that it goes into at install time. The current
installer always installs to the default website.
I have heard that there is a fix for this available, can anyone point me
towards it.

Hello, I am having a problem that I believe is related to the way a stream reader object looks for a text file by default. What I am doing is using a StreamReader object to read the text of a text file which includes some html code to populate html formatted content as the text of an asp:label (<asp:label>). The reading of the text file itself goes just fine ;however, this only occurs when I use an absolute file path which will not work of...

I am trying to copy files and folders onto a production machine (Windows 2003
web edition -- we had to install the .NetFramework 2.0 on it). I wasn't even
sure which files to copy for a ASP.NET 2.0 application. But I followed the
steps I do for a 1.1 ASP.Net applications. I get the following error message
when I try to run it. The application run fine in VS2005 on the development
machine. It is set up properlly as far as IIS 6.x is...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
