page finishes loading but progress bar continues very slowly

My (intranet) aspx page finishes loading but the progress bar continues to
advance very very very slowly, i.e. a new chunk on the bar is added 10
seconds or so, and then progress bar stops about halfway and never gets any
further. Is there any way to monitor activity on the web server that would
give some indication as to what process is still ongoing that makes the
browser (IE6) display the progress bar?

The page uses a hidden IFRAME to fetch data from a database, and contents
from the IFRAME are copied over into a DIV on the page, which is then made
visible. The database fetch and the copy from IFRAME to page-DIV occurs in
less than a second.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I've been using the following 2 ways to make sure my WebBrowser is finished loading a page before continuing with the next code. do:doevents:loop while WebBrowser.Busy do:doevents:loop until WebBrowser.ReadyState = STATE_COMPLETE (or something like that. I don't have the code in front of me) But, for some reason, occasionally the code continues past the loops even

I am developing a winforms project in vb.net. I have several forms that have a number of controls, grids, etc. When I load these as MDI child forms, they load slowly AND they paint/repaint on the screen, and it makes a sloppy presentation. I am unhappy with it, and obviously the client says that it is unacceptable. How can I make a nice, crisp form/screen opening? Thanks so much for you help.

I'm afraid I will incur the wraith of Mr. Powell on this one - but I did read his #1 FAQ and some others and I still can't figure this out. I created this little c# app. and I have a PictureBox in my Form. I load this image from the filesystem into the PictureBox and then I draw random little lines on the image. Then when I minimize and reopen the application the little lines are gone. Is there a way to save my lines in memory and...

I have a Webpage that dynamically loads a series of thumbnail images from a SQL database into a placeholder. The problem I have is that the page displays before all the images have been populated and hence you can see the images slowly populating on screen. the question I have is how do you prevent a page from displaying until all the images have been downloaded completely.

Hey folks, Got a weird one for you that I think may just be a bug with Internet Explorer. I have a page that hosts an IFrame. When I call Javascript in my page to change the source of the IFrame, the blue bar in Internet Explorer starts moving as if it's loading. The problem is, the blue bar never finishes even after the page has completed loading. And yes, I am 110% certain the page has completed loading (including all js stuff). ...

Hi, I'm having an issue with the status bar in Mozilla and Netscape showing that it is still waiting on the page to load even after it is finished. This problem does NOT occur with IE. In summary, I am using a onLoad event in the BODY tag to communicate back to another server each time a page finishes loading. I do this by using a "new Image()" and setting the .src property to the server. The .src includes a value in the querystring...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
