Parent - Child back to parent javascript thingybob

I have a page that has a button that opens a child window with a search
function.
The search funtion contains a datagrid with a button column - this all works
fine,
the bit thats giving me a headache is onclick I need to close the child and
reopen the parent
with a passed variable.

i can get it to work so it opens a new parent, but id rather it reused the
old parent

eg this is what im using atm :-

clientscript = "<script
language='javas cript'>window.l ocation.href='I ndex.aspx?sendi d=" &
e.Item.Cells(0) .Text & "';</script>"

id also like to close the child if i could

cheers

Any suggestions on how to go about generating a popup, giving the user a way of searching for something, and then taking their selection after closing the pop-up and populating the parent form with the selection from the child? I can do everything up until the point of having to populate the parent form with the selection from the child form. How do I put the information back into the parent so that the asp.net code in the parent can...

I did a ton of searching to try and find a simple solution to this issue and finally wrote my own, which I am sharing with everyone. In my searching, I did find a very complete and robust solution at http://weblogs.asp.net/asmith/archive/2003/09/15/27684.aspx but it was far more complex then I needed. (I got lost trying to figure it all out). Therefore, here goes my simple "web dialog box with parent event handler fireing" solution. ...

I have some javascript that works in Firefox 2 but not in IE 7. In the parent page, a user clicks a link and a new window is opened so that they can maintain some values. When the user is finished, they can click either a save or a cancel button. If the user clicks the save button, I want the parent page to be refreshed and then the child window to close. I have this working perfectly in FF2 but it does not in IE. In IE, the parent...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
