Let's say I have an html form with 20 or 30 fields in it. The form
submits the fields via POST to a php page which updates a table in a
database with the $_POST vars. Which makes more sense?
1) simply UPDATING the values for all fields in the table, whether or
not any particular field has actually changed
2) running a second SELECT statement and comparing the $_POST vars to
the returned values, and only UPDATING those that have...

I want to create an object,
which replaces std::cout
all output will be put out to std::cout, but optional
also copied to a file.
But the file output needs to be manipulated:
every new line has to be preceded by a ';'
Is there an easy way to do so?
Or do I have to write wrappers for all kind of

I am drawing lines with a semi-transparent color
(alpha=100). When these lines intercept, the color
becomes more intense. Is there a way to avoid this, so
that I would get the same intensity of color?
Thanks a lot.

Hi,
Is it possible to pass execution to a view (aspx file), let it do its job,
and then capture the output? I want to achieve something like this during a
HttpRequest:
1. Invoke the controller to process the request
2. Start building the page by doing the following:
A: Read a template file
B: For each required view read from the template file, invoke the view

ASP.NET is a kind of "engine" that takes declarative markup and code and
renders these instructions into presentational forms. And every page is a
class.
With that in mind I'm wondering,
a) how to intercept the rendered output and do further programmatic things
with it;
and
b) how coarse or finely grained the control might be. One could envision the

Hi,
I am trying to grab the page output so I can do some html processing before
the page is sent to the browser.
I found a post somewhere which suggests that this would grab the page
content immediately before it is sent to the browser. I have added this to
the page but the sub is not called.
Does anyone know how to get this going?

Our developers have experienced a problem with updating Web References in
Visual Studio.NET 2003.
Normally, when a web service class (.asmx) is created, updating the Web
Reference will utilise the disco file to update the
Corresponding proxy file and reflect the changes made to the web service.
However, the results of doing this with out params is that the results seem

I am new to asp.net.
I have an asp page with a submit button which sends out some
information.
Instead of having IIS to respond and deal with this information, I
would like to have a .NET program (for instance a .NET service, or even
a client .net application) which is able to intercept this call and
deal with the associate information. This middle application might
decide whether to send something to IIS or just do everything by itself...

I'm using a widget/control (a date picker), which I don't really have any
control over, that is programmatically updating a text field. I'm curious
if there is any way I can determine when the value of the text field is
changed? I've tried setting the onchange for the field in the markup but
because the value is being set programmatically, that event never triggers.
Apart from setting up an interval, is there any other way to determine...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
