Allow users to do minimal text formatting

Hi all,

I have a site working where a user can add some text, wich will be display
on a news page. I would like to give the user the ability to change some
settings of the text he enters (color, size, alignement,... ) i'm not
really sure on how to start on this... How do I have to save tags in my DB?
Any suggestions or exmaples greatly appriciated..

Looks like you need an html or rich text editor component. Google for one.

Sounds like you need a rich text box control.
Here are a few free ones you could use:

Is there a way to store HTML into a MySQL TEXT column, yet be able to search over textual content only? For example, if I store the following HTML snippet: <p>A very <em>small</em> paragraph.</p> .... into an TEXT column, I would like to be able to search in the text "A very small paragraph." only, meaning the search would find "small" (even if it's enclosed in <em> tags and

I have a general question about how people generally tend to deal with users data that they enter. As an example users enter double quotes in a text field surrounding a specific piece of text they want to hi-lite and then it barfs during the oracle insert step because the string is not properly delimited. Another example is where the ampersand causes trouble when used on an xml page so provisions are made to insert it into the table...

Dear Access Developers, The 'Allow Additions' property of my form is causing unexpected results. I am developing a form that has its 'Default View' property set to 'Continuous Forms' and am displaying records that match an SQL statement entered in the 'Record Source' property of the form. This one has me stumped. I have three web applications running on two different servers. The first that works fine is hosted by a .Net hosting company. Everyone that uses it has no problems hitting the site. The other two applications are running on my personal server which has Windows 2003, IIS 6, and .Net 1.1 Most of my users can use the sites. Two have come up with a very strange problem. They try to go to either application and...

The documentation for the RichTextBox is sketchy at best. I want to do a very simple task but I cannot find information on this. I am using a RichTextBox as an output window. Some text I want to just add plain (e.g.. rtf.Text += "new stuff..."; ) but some text, when added, I want to be in a different color or font size. Find() will not work because the text will vary. I have delimiters on it so I could recognize it with a regular ...

This is like the previous one. Please check for sanity and approve for posting at python-dev. I would like to have something like "option base" in Visual Basic. IIRC it used to allow me to choose whether 0 or 1 should be used as the base of member indices of arrays. In Python, the same can be used with strings, lists, tuples etc. This would mean: foo = "foo"

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
