I'm converting an application from VB6 to VB.NET. In the application, a
page calls an external javascript file which is generated in ASP. I'm
trying to do this in an ASPX page, but I can't figure out how to
generate a page without HTML page pages (<HTML><HEAD><B ODY>). How can I
do this? TIA

Thanks David. What I need to do though is surpress the page tags <HTML>,
etc., or page can't be recognized as an external javascript file.
Matt.

I am running Windows 2000 and I can't seem to get my JavaScript
working with ASP. I placed my HTML code in a file called x.asp
under c:\Inetpub\wwwroot, and I placed my JavaScript code in a
file called updated.js under c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\scripts.
When I rename x.asp to x.htm and execute it as a html file,
the JavaScript code works, however when it's x.asp and I
execute it by typing in the browser http://localhost/x.asp,
it doesn't work!

Hi, all,
I am currently updating links for a site almost daily. I have set the
META tags to allow for no caching so that as soon as the site is
updated on the server, the new changes can be seen by the people
logging onto the site.
But I have a problem when it comes to the javascript files associated
with the .asp files. It seems as if the javacsript files are cached,
even though the page page calling it is not.

OK, here's the scenario: I have a CGI script that generates a
page with frames (BTW, I'm not crazy about frames, but in this case
the decision to use them is out of my hands). In a typical session,
the user interacts with two of these frames extensively, and up to
the very end of the session, this interaction is handled entirely
client-side by a fairly elaborate JavaScript script. (This
interaction takes place exclusively via HTML...

Hi,
I want to load an external javascript file, get its results and stick
them inside a <div> block. I also
want to do this in several places on a web page.
This way the browser doesn't have to wait for the external resource to
load to show up the page,
thus giving a perceiving faster load time for the user.

I was wondering if it was possible to have php code in a javascript
file. I have a java file with a bunch of functions on it and I wanted
to add one where the action has php code in it. When i initially tried
it, it did not work. Is this possible? Is there a special trick?

I have the following javascript function that updates a scroll_list and
sends the updated entry (with its index) to a server script
( i.e. http://mkmxg00/cgi/confirmUpload.pl ) for further processing:
function saveText( scroll_list, t_area, listToBeUpdated ) {
scroll_list.options.text = t_area.text;
scroll_list.options.value= t_area.value;
var req;
var url = "http://mkmxg00/cgi/confirmUpload.pl";

Hi,
I have a form for uploading documents and inserting the data into a mysql
db. I would like to validate the form. I have tried a couple of Javascript
form validation functions, but it appears that the data goes straight to the
processing page, rather than the javascript seeing if data is missing and
popping up an alert. I thought it may be because much of the form is
populated with data from the db (lists, etc.), but when I leave...

Hi all,
I'm trying to use some javascript code in Internet Explorer 6.0 that's
being generated by a Perl file. I have a line in my header that looks
something like this:
<script src="jscode.pl?parm1=foo&parm2=monkey" type="text/javascript" /
Just for the sake of simplicity, here's a very simplified version of
the Perl code:

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
