A dumb question: Exactly how does tabbing work in an ASP.NET form in the
browser? Does it work the same was as a Windows Forms form does?
I have a rather complicated ASP form (that consists of HTML tables, ASP text
boxes, drop downs, data grids, etc)... and no matter how I set the TAB
indexes, it never seems to work the way I want it to - sometimes tabbing all
over the place!
What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any input...

You set the tabindex property which gets rendered as a tabindex attribute of
the html element.
<asp:textbox tabindex=3 ...>
becomes
<input type="Textbox" tabindex=3 ... >
You probably already knew this, but there's nothing else really to know...

also keep in mind that other elements in the browser (like the brower
buttons themeselves) are going to participate in the tabbing experience
which is different that in winforms..

I've got a odd thing happening when tabbing through my form. everything is
fine as long as I only tab through the fields, but if I skip 10 fields and
click in a field, enter data then hit tab it will just to the control AFTER
the last control I TABBED to.
This doesn't make sense to me. Does a form keep track of tab index? Do I
need to set this index somewhere when clicking on a field?

I have a DataGrid with some hidden columns and also some read Only and some
ComboBox Columns.
Sandard Tabbing through the Datagrid sees the focus go to the hidden columns
requiring further Tabbing to get to the desired column but it works fine
stopping correctly on the ComboBox column.
