I am sure that I am making a simple boneheaded mistake and I would
appreciate your help in spotting in. I have just installed
apache_2.0.53-win32-x86-no_ssl.exe
php-5.0.3-Win32.zip
Smarty-2.6.7.tar.gz
on a system running WindowsXP SP2.
Apache and PHP tested out fine. After adding Smarty, I ran the

Hi there,
If I use frames, should a reference to the favicon.ico (like:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="pictures/favicon.ico"
type="image/x-icon">) be placed on _every page_, or is one reference
in the index.htm (top-frame) enough.
I'm asking this question because I had a reference in my top-frame
only, wich seemed to work OK (the favicon showd in the adress-bar in
all frames), but all of a sudden the favicon won't show anymore in the

I have a 16 color 16 x 16 pixel icon (favicon.ico); 4-bit palette. I have
put the icon in the root directory of my web site, and I have also added the
<link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" ... /> HTML tag in the document header section.
The icon appears fine in FireFox's address bar, but refuses to show up in
the notebook tab. The notebook continues to show the "blank document"
generic icon.
What am I doing wrong and how can I fix this?

Hi
If I have a website with a url like
http://localhost/MyWebPage/SomeDirectory/startPage.aspx
Can I still use a favicon.ico file? For the entire Site? How?
Its hard to experiment with favicon files as they seem to be quite hit and
miss as to whether or not they appear

I'm have a problem showing a favicon in ver 1.7.10. It shows up correctly
in the address bar, but is missing from the tab. I've tried each of these
HTML 'statements' to add the favicon to the page, but no luck:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" >
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
FWIW, it seems to render OK in IE v6.0. I haven't tried it in FFox 2.0 yet,
but I'll need it to work there...

Hi there,
I am using asp.net 2.0 and C# to develop my website. I would like to put a
favicon to my website, so I put the following code in the <headsection
right after <titletag in a master page:
<link rel="Shortcut Icon" href="/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon"/>
All my pages are reference to this master page. My icon file in the site

Does it possible change favicon icon depending on browser type:
display favicon.ico for Internet Explorer browsers, and favicon.gif
for the rest browsers? Problem is that ugly MSIE can display only .ICO
favicons, whereas other browsers support any favicon type - gif, png,
jpg. Since gif favicons has much better quality than ico file, I'm
wondering does it possible sort browsers with javascript and show
appropriate favicon type for...

It isn't a question of relative vs. full URL paths in your meta tags.
It is a question of following the paths (relative or full URL) in
your meta tags vs. not reading the meta tags at all and just looking
for the favicon in the root.
The standard behaviour is defined here:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
