Hello...
I am developing an application using C# and ASP.NET. I
wish my code to detect the device the user is using (OS,
Browser) and if a mobile device is being used (PDA,
Phone, etc..) it re-directs to an interface specific for
that set of devices. Else if a device such as a desktop
or notebook is being used it will re-direct the user to a
different interface.

Hi all,
I am currently able to detect the browser capabilities,
and determine if a browser is from a mobile device.
However, I only have been able to place this detection
code in an aspx page. In other words, if I want the detection to take place
in my home page, I do NOT know how to do it. i.e. www.myhome.com. However,
I am able to do it at : www.myhome.com/browserdetection.aspx.
I can mention www.davesipaq.com as example.
Can...

We have a C# windows mobile form application designed for PockedtPC 2003 developed in VS2003.NET with .NET 1.0/1.1.
Some of the mobile devices have been replaced with Windows Mobile 5.0.
As a result we have re-built the application in VS2005 with .NET 2.0.
We can deploy the application to the mobile device OK via active-synch.
However as our mobile devices are widely distributed the normal way of loading the application is to FTP...

I've come across numerous mobile phones with which ASP.NET pages can
be accessed on the Internet. Then why has Microsoft developed a
separate programming model to create ASP.NET apps for mobile devices
when regular ASP.NET pages can be accessed from mobile devices?

Currently, only the index page is .asp and has code in the header to detect mobile devices. So if someone goes to our website on a mobile phone they are redirected to the mobile site. All the other pages are .html. If someone uses google search and happens to find a page deeper within our site, and they are on a mobile device, then they get the regular website page. We need them to get the mobile equivalent of that searched page, since they...

I'm looking at rewriting some legacy VB applications and am pondering
which of the following techniques to use:
1. Browser based GUI with local web server (Browser +
wsgiref.simple_server) (I'm assuming that simple_server is class I want
to build from for a local web server)
-OR-
2. wxPython based GUI

Hi,
I have been scouting around online for information on how to use
Python and a GUI toolikit to develop mobile devices. At present I am
using wxPython for desktop apps and would like to continue using that
if possible. Anyway, I would like to know what people would recommend
for developing mobile applications which can run on Windows Mobile and
Mac OS X (iPhone etc)? It would also be cool if the same apps could
run where possible (or...

I saw a MS demo a few years back where they developed a web page and the
software automatically rendered it for different devices. Is this what
I'm looking for?
http://www.asp.net/mobile/
Much of the info looks old. I have a MSDN account where can I download
it or is it already in VS 2008 and I just don't know how to find it?
I'm mainly interested in having simple pages render in Internet Explorer

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
