Strange behavior with dialog windows

I have a strange behavior with dialog windows postbacks
Here is what I doing:
1. Call window.showModa lDialog('webFor m1.aspx') from script. (I also using
<base target="_self"> )
2. After the dialog is open I moved the window elsewhere in the screen
3. Invoke a postback
After the postback the window is moved back to the original positions.
How can I force the window to remember the last position?
Thanks,
Ronen

Hi, I use FolderBrowserDialog in my c# windows forms project. It was working with no issues, but right now the dialog shows but I can't see any directories selection. I can see the buttons at the buttom of the dialog and the caption but there is nothing at the place where the directories selection should have been. Any ideas? When I try it in a different c# application it works fine. Now I am sure the code is right: ...

Hello all, Here's another mind puzzle from me :-) Today I tried to add a new resource to my program and VS.NET (v 7.0.9466) just died. What I mean by that is that it silently and quickly (immediately actually) closed its window. No errors, no access faults - nothing. Just died. I restarted it, tried to add a resource again and it repeated itself. I rebooted the computer (which I haven't done in a few weeks now), but it doesn't help...

I have an application that has been working just fine for a couple of years. It queries a SQL database and returns some formatted data back to the client. I have a new client, who has a larger database than any of our previous customers. For example, the query to build the datatable now takes about 2 minutes instead of one minute or less. This is a third party database we are integrating with. He is getting very strange results. For...

I know this one is WAY out pushing the envelope, but I'd like to know if anyone has any ideas about it. We have a behemoth of a legacy MFC application which is now being embedded in a Windows Forms application (using VS 2005). It took some substantial out of the box thinking to make this work, but by and large it is working. There is one behavior, however, which we haven't quite solved yet. For some strange reason, we are having some...

Writing an Outlook AddIn with C#. For the user interface within Outlook I'm adding matching pairs of Toolbar buttons and Menu items. All of the buttons and menu items are wired up to send events to the same method (aka delegate?). I use the Tag property within this method to determine what user action is taking place. Very simple: When adding toolbar button: tbButton.Click += new...

Hello. I have a strange problem when calling a common dialog with a toolstrip button. When the dialog comes up, it will completely ignore the first click that you input. I do not have this problem when calling the same dialog from anywhere else in the code. Only when called with a toolstrip button. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have a form which I'd like to display as a sizable dialog box. The behavior I get when I use FormBorderStyle = SizableToolWindow is perfect. However, when I use that option, the title bar of my form gets much smaller. The discrepancy really stands out, and looks like a bug. I anticipate that someone will tell me that the different title bar is intentional -- that showing a different title bar is Windows' way of visually distinguishing...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
