toolstrip button strange behavior

Hello. I have a strange problem when calling a common dialog with a
toolstrip button. When the dialog comes up, it will completely ignore
the first click that you input. I do not have this problem when
calling the same dialog from anywhere else in the code. Only when
called with a toolstrip button.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Private Sub ToolStripButton 4_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object,
ByVal e As System.EventArg s) Handles ToolStripButton 4.Click
PrintDialog1.Sh owDialog()
End Sub

I am trying to create a button on a toolstrip that is used to select a color. After the user selects their color, a portion of the button's image is changed to that color (similar to the highlighter button in Microsoft Word). How can this be done? I tried making part of the button's image transparent and then changed the button's BackColor to the selected color. It appears that BackColor does not affect anything. That seems to be true...

Hi all, I'm using the ToolStrip in .NET 2.0, and I can't seem to find a way to change the size of it. What I want is a toolbar the size of the IE toolbar, preferably with text below images if possible. Can anyone shed any light on how to do this? Thanks, Alex Clark

I have a toolstrip button on a windows form. If my form does not have focus, when the user clicks on the toolstrip button nothing happens, and they have to click a second time for the button to operate. A System.Windows.Forms.Button also on the form does respond immediately - even if the form does not have focus. Is it possible to make the System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripButton respond immediately also?

Hi, I've used a toolstrip up until now for my program, but I've just discovered that it doesn't support checkboxes. Is there a way to put one in a toolstrip? I could also use a state button instead: a button, that is, that keeps a 'pressed' state when clicked, and a 'released' state when clicked again, but I don't find this functionality in the toolstripbutton class. Is there a solution for my problem? Thank you!

I have a program that is crashing on some machines (at a client of ours). I have determined that it goes down on this line of code: ToolStrip x = new ToolStrip(); I created a simple test app that only performs this one line of code. It throws an exception so I know the problem is not caused by something in my code. It seems like there is a problem with .NET. We have tried uninstalling and reinstalling .NET 2, but it doesn't help.

If you host a ComboBox in a ToolStrip, setting DropDownStyle to DropDown or DropDownList displays the dropdown without affecting the height of the toolbar. I want to emulate that behavior for a custom user control that will consist of a TextBox and a "suggestion" ListBox that appears beneath the TextBox as the user types in the TextBox. Currently, I'm finding that the ToolStrip height dynamically increases when my ListBox appears (similar...

In C# 2005 (.Net 2.0), while working with a toolstrip, if its TabStop property is set to TRUE and there are two comboboxes and a button in the toolstrip, why doesn't the button get any focus when the focus is moved from one control to another by pressing the TAB Key. This problem doesn't occur when the TabStop property of the toolstrip is FALSE. But I need the TabStop property to be TRUE. Another problem is while the TabStop property of...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
