KHost.exe - Program eror

Hi,

This is perhaps not the right forum to discuss this matter but it's about
the sample library of VS.NET2003.

I have a swedish OS Windows 2000 Professional and accordingly all messages
are given in swedish. So if some swedes are watching this thread, they'll
understand, to the rest of you, I'll translate it to the best of my knowledge.

On every machine boot this message dialog OK/Cancel pops up with the the
header "KHost.exe - Programfel"

Programfel means Program error

*** swedish version ***
"Instruktio nen på '0x00557548' referade till minnet på '0x005357a4'. Det
gick inte att utföra en minnesåtgärd. Följande fel returnerades: The memory
could not be 'written'".

Klicka på OK om du vill avsluta programmet.
Klicka på Avbryt om du vill felsöka programmet.

*** translated english version ***
"The instruction on '0x00557548' referred to the memory on '0x005357a4'. You
could not carry out a memory task. The following error was returned: The
memory could not be 'written'"

Klick on OK if you want to exit the program.
Klick on Cancel if you want to debug the program.

** end engliash translation ***

So I did a search on KHost.exe and found it in C:\WINNT\kdx with these
details:
khost.exe 1716 kb Program 2004-01-20 11:45

and EventSinkHost.e xe.config in library

C:\Program\Micr osoft Visual Studio .NET
2003\SDK\v1.1\S amples\Technolo gies\Remoting\B asic\RemotingEv ents\EventSink
with these details

EventSinkHost.e xe.config 1kb Web Confguration 2002-06-17 23:49

What do you think?

Some trojan or virus or some legal Microsoft stuff?

Any ideas?

TIA

Google is your friend in this situation. I just googled "KHost.exe"
(including the "") and this is the first link that popped up.

Hi, I'm trying to create a program similar to that of Google's desktop that will crawl through the hard drive and index files. I have written the program and as of now I just put the thread to sleep for 1 second after indexing a couple of files. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way that I could make so that the program will run at full speed only runs after the computer has been idle for a while. I've looked at the "nice" command...

Hi Cor: You have given a very good suggestion that I can directly reference the "Program Files" Folder. Actually my vb.net program reads/write a notepad file record.txt. For example, the name of my program is MYPROGRAM and I am presuming that it would be installed in the "MYPROGRAM" folder of "Program Files". Therefore I can reference record.txt file in my code as path =...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
