using getPostBackEven tReference. But, when the PostBack is called, i want

Hi,
You can retain focus during postbacks by setting SmartNavigation = True for
that page but SmartNavigation has some disadvantages.
"But if i understand you correctly you are trying to cause postback on focus
of a control and if you set focus to the same control will it not cause the
page to postback again" -- forgive me if i got you wrong :)

I tink you need use a javascript on bottom of html.
Try this:
RegisterStartup Script("whatyou wantstring","<S CRIPT
language=javasc ript>document.g etElementById(' controlname').f ocus;</SCRIPT>");

Hi
I have created function to check date and time. at the time of
execution, if date is left empty the function returns the error
message but then the focus goes to next field. Next filed is for time
and there is also a check on that. If time is empty return error
message. Again the explorer returns error message and then shifts the
focus to date field, again error message and focus goes to time and
this story goes on and on, untill...

OK, this is a stupid thing, but I can't seem to get this to work. I have a
form with a subform (in continuous form view). A combo box on the main form
has code in the AfterUpdate event which adds a record to the subform (based
on the value of the combo box) and requeries the subform control. I want the
focus to return to the combo box on the main form when it's done, but I
can't get it to do so if the user enters a value and presses Enter...

I want to be able to test if my app's form has focus, (ie: not in
background, behind other windows). How can I do this? I tried the
Me.Focused, but that doesn't work. I think it's because a control
within the form actually has focus, so the Me.Focused would return
false. Thanks!

I am developing a VB.NET user control that is composed of a component
control (along with some classes, etc). This is probably a stupid question,
and should be easy, but I must be having a brain fart. In the control
itself, how do I set focus BACK to the form that the control is on? This
control does some maniuplation of an outside application (by starting up the
application and sending it keystrokes). What I want to be able to do is to...

I am using a WebBrowser object in my .NET 2.0 application, but it is not
shown to the user. Every time a timer event triggers it to perform a
m_WebBrowser.Navigate() I get that classic IE 'click' and it steals the focus
from the user's current application.
How can I prevent the hidden WebBrowser from stealing focus? (And better
yet can I even suppress that click?_

I've created some custom controls and forms that allow the feature to
temporarily transfer focus to a control that has been entered by the mouse.
Everything seems to work fine but the problem I have is that sometimes I
seem to loose the original "holder" of focus and when the user hits tab
while using "temporary" focus(while the mouse is over a control) it will
change focus to the next control but not update it.
So I have several issues....

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/system.windows.forms.control.focus(VS.80).aspx
this page says:
"Focus is a low-level method intended primarily for custom control
authors. Instead, application programmers should use the Select method
or the ActiveControl property for child controls, or the Activate
method for forms."
I am trying to give a Numeric UpDown control focus. Only Focus()
works. But this says to not use it.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
