Question regarding interactive user controls

Hi Guys, I am newbie using C#. I have a header control with drop down
application list. i need to hide panels in the navigation user control which
presents users with different menus based on selection in the header list. Is
there any site you can guide me so i can learn how to achieve this?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Manny,

Take a look at this; (serverside)

http://www.mastercsharp.com/article....=67&&TopicID=2

You can also achieve similar things on the client side but since your panels
are inside user controls, the code will require a bit more detailed design.
(Id's will be controlname_pan elid for example...) I would advise to do it on
the server side, if it's does not have a big impact.

Hope this helps,

Ethem

(originally posted to one of macromedia's groups; no help, so hopefully someone here can help me out. I'm using VBScript ASP.) When designing administrative interfaces to websites, we often need to provide users with a mechanism to change the order of items that are listed on the page. I have not come up with a graceful and elegant way to offer an interactive ordering capability on administration forms, as you see in many desktop...

As the title suggests, I've got a question about running an ASP.NET app on a server that has no interactive desktop login. In all our testing of our app here, the server always had an interactive desktop login since we were watching things on it, etc. Well I went to test it the way I would assume our customers are going to run it, that is with no interactive desktop login, and I get my initial page, but then I can't doing anything else. Our...

What's the generally accepted approach for using Styles and Stylesheets in a web application based on .aspx files, Web Controls, User Controls, and code-behind modules (c# in my case)? Most style and stylesheet guides on the internet seem to be based on web sites (rather than applications) based on relatively static textual information. I have read that external stylesheet files are the way to go, but it seems to me that these only lend...

Hello, I am trying to use vs.net 2005 to migrate a project originally in vs.net 2003. I started with creation of a "web site", and then created folders for each component of the site. I read somewhere that each folder under the "web site" is compiled in separate assembly. I however, did not find that the "web site" creation in vs.net 2005 created any AssemblyInfo.cs file.

Hello, I am trying to make a user control that is interactive. What I am doing is drawing a set of bars on a control similar to a gantt chart and allowing a user to place the mouse over them to see a tool tip, or if you click on them to open a form associated with data tied behind them. What I can't figure out how to do (I have been looking at a few very complex examples and it's hard to pull out how they did it) is how do you create a...

I am not a programmer, I'm an engineer trying to make an interface to a product I'm designing. I have used C# to make a form that interrogates the unit via the serial port and receives the data. I want to be able to draw lines in a picturebox based upon certain data points I have received. I dragged a picturebox from the toolbar onto my form, but after having gone through the help files, looking online and trying a variety of things, I...

First off, i apologize for the badly named thread... I tried to edit the name, but for some reason the new name won't update... Ok, so i'm new to python.. but i've undertaken a project in python, and i have to see it through... So far i'm having two persistant problems... 1. If i have a python script, called for example prog.py, if i try running it in the terminal, or in DOS as 'python prog.py' it runs perfectly (well, in most cases)....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
