Compiling ASPX pages into the DLL

Will there ever be a time when we can compile everything (ASPX, VB,
Resources, etc) into a DLL? Sometimes the programmer doesn't want the end
user to touch ANY files on the server. Compiling everything would make
deployment a snap...

AFAIK this is part of 2.0.

Try

Hi All, I am trying to deploy .aspx (asp.net) web pages to a web server without having to compile them beforehand. Using the CodeBehind approach this does not seem possible as the CodeBehind (.vb file in this case) must be compiled into a class which is then inherited from the .aspx. The reason for this is simple, the designers use Mac OSX and we have set up a number of templates to make it easy for them to create .net sites with...

Hi group, The first visit to a newly created aspx page is always slow since it has to be compiled once. Sequential visits are much faster. We've tested our .NET webapp on two different machines : (a) Windows 2000 / IIS5 and (b) Windows 2003 / IIS6. During this testing, we noticed that Windows 2003 seems to remove the compiled pages when it's not accessed recently (I think about 30 minutes).

Is there a way to access my .vb class files in my codebehind pages without pre-compiling them first. We are working with multiple developers, so each time I make a change to the class file the whole team has to update the dll. I am using CodeBehind in all my files. I also created a whole bunch of class files (e.g. common.vb) . All files are using the same Namespace. Here is a little sample:( I am getting an error "Type 'Portal.Common' is...

I need some help. I am trying to set up our development environment so as to make life easy for my fellow developers (none of whom have used ASP.NET or VS.NET before). We are developing our intranet which will comprise basic content with a number of small data-driven ASP.NET applications. I need to keep things simple, so I need to avoid stuff which needs too much in-depth knowledge to work.

I'm still using Beta 2 of VS2005. I'd like to be able to precompile my web site (similar to 1.x) so that I don't have to put source files on the deployment server. Is there anyway to do this other than with the command line aspnet_compiler.exe tool? Thanks, Bryan

In vs.net 2005 you can build the entire website, entire solution or a single page. The project I am working on has more than 1000 pages spread over 50-60 directories. We work on one or two of the directories most of the time. When an external dependency is changed (say a function in business layer), we have to compile the entire web project, which takes a lot of time because vs.net compiles all 60 directories. What is need is an option...

Hi, I compiled my asp.net application for deployment like this: aspnet_compiler -p "C:\MyDevelopment\WebSite1" -v / C:\mydir. I can see the same aspx and other files and a dir 'bin' with the compiled files. Then i made a virtual dir. under IIS for c:\mydir. It works. My question is: can i remove the aspx and aspx.vb files from the virtual

Hi, I'm putting together a project that uses ASP.NET in VS2005. It uses a single master page that is responsible for most of the heavy lifting. About 90% of the 200 pages have the same code-behind, so I implemented all of these pages so they would reference the same code-behind cs file, as follows: <%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/MyMaster.master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="~/Template.aspx.cs" Inherits="Template"...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
