Validation control bound to listbox but "*" not showing during err

Validation control is bound to a listbox but the "*" is not showing during an
error. The text property is set to "*" and the error message is being
displayed in the Summary Control. All of the other controls are working as
expected just the listboxes are doing this.
Is this a bug or undocumented behavior and how can it be fixed?
Using .Net framework 1.1.

Note: My XML experience to date has (unfortunately) been limited to reading and thinking, rather than implementation. Anyway, I am in the process of trying to figure out the most efficient way to validate and transform some very large (potentially over 100MB) XML documents. This is related to another question I will post next, but for now, I want to focus on one particular topic. The data in question has particular business rules...

Hello, I have a (java) DOM object that adheres to an XML schema. I want to manipulate it in code, but to ensure that the object still sticks to the schema (ie, validation during the life-cycle of the DOM object, not just upon initial parsing). Is this possible? My investigation so far has revealed that DOM3 does provide validation mechanisms for this, but no current parsers implement them. I've picked up on something called the...

Hi, I'm running visual studio 2003, and am now receiving the error "The Operation Could Not Be Completed" when attempting to add a form / control or component class to a project. I can add any other type of item without a problem. This is the second time this has happened to my machine, last time I reinstalled VS and it fixed it. I havent installed anything since that time, so I guess it must be some sort of corruption in the system.

Hi all, Forgive me in advance for any noobish questions I may ask... although I'm well-versed in classic ASP/VB, I'm still learning some of the deeper nuances of .NET, particularly some of the ADO.NET 2.0 items. I'm trying to embed a datasource and a formview on the page, and I've done so as outlined in a "15 Minutes" article. I can use the datasource and formview just fine on the web end (I can select records, update them, delete...

I have created a Web Custom Control that inherits from WebControls.ListBox but can't get it to retain the selectedIndex after a postback. As a test I created a very simple version of the control with no additional code. I just inherited from the exisiting ListBox class and put the control on a page. I put this control a blank page along with a button to perform a post back. I select an item in the list box and then click the button...

I have a Tab control containing pages and many other controls. I would like to set the position of the tab control during Load or Open (btw, where is the place to do this?). During Design Time, all the contained controls move and reposition with the tab control, preserving the relative position with respect to the tab control. During run-time, only the tab control moves.

Is it possible to use the custom validation control to validate a calendar control via client-side script (in jscript)? I'm familiar with custom validation and client side script, and i am aware that the custom control cannot be wired automatically to the calendar control, but i cannot seem to "read" the value of the calendar control via jscript via any other means. Any ideas?

I am handling the Listbox DrawItem event to enable the listbox strings to be displayed in different colours for easy reading. Have set ScrollAlwaysVisible and HorizontalScrollbar to true. I Anchor the listbox T, L, R, B on the parent form The string items held within the listbox are quite big, much longer than could be displayed within the Listbox display area.

Hi, I need to turn off my menu control when a user is in the process of changing there password. I know this can be done because the Login control automatically prevents the rendering of the control during login. I would like this same no rendering of the menu control when users are changing there passwords. The ChangePassword.aspx page sits inside the master as dose the login control so if the login control can do this so can the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
