Im running a small server that seems to work fine outside the IDE as an exe,
but within the IDE, when I run the program for the first time, i can
start/stop
the host many times. But I end the program within the IDE, and start it back
up,
when I click on the Host button, the entire IDE hangs.
I created a quick test program to try and figure out where the problem was..
Basically i created a form and put a command button, and a mswinsock

I have an ASP.NET (VB.NET) application that calls all VB6 COM DLL via
Interop. The DLL uses functionality contained in a Custom OCX Control
(Also VB6) that in turn contains a standard TreeView control. The
Custom OCX is not used for visual purposes, but has some functionality
that we require (hence hosting an OCX in a DLL).

I have a form with a panel control and button on it (outside the panel
control).
I have two event handlers - one handles the click event of the button on the
form. The other handles a custom "CardInserted" event for a class I wrote
that watches for smart cards to be inserted into an attached smart card
reader.

I have created a control that displays a list of items. During design
mode I fill it with junk data using calls from the constructor. So
when I look at a form with the control on, instead of being empty, it
has some content, and this gives a better idea of what the form will
look like when run. During runtime it should be empty to start with,
so I comment out the code in the constructor that fills it with dummy
data.

Ok, I know why it happens, but I don't know how to fix it. I've got
code that responds to a user clicking an up or down arrow button which
moves a div layer down or up into a placeholder div layer. That all
works fine, but when the user moves a part up or down, then causes a
postback, I get the viewstate problem.

I have a site that is running on a SPS 2003 box and I intend to remove it from that box and off any sharepoint architecture. I currently receive the following error and I am inclined to think it is something to do with not being on the SPS box anymore where SPS would normally take control of permissions amongst other things.
