controlling "return key" behavior with multiple "form-elements"

Hi there,

we have an application which is built with several ASCX controls some of
which contain form elements (e.g. Textboxes, Buttons etc.)

For example: in the top section (one ascx-control), there is a
textbutton in which the user can enter a string to search for. There's
link button right next to that textbutton. Then, in the "content
section" (another ascx-control), there may be a login-dialog which
prompts the user for login-name and password, with another button "Login".

How can we make sure that when the user has entered his login data and
enters "return" (instead of clicking the button), the event handler of
the button is fired instead of firing the event handler of the
search-button? And vice versa: when the user has entered a search string
in the search-textbox and enters "return", how can we make sure this
"search-button" event handler is fired instead of any other "subforms"
event handler.

We cannot have multiple forms as only one form is allowed per ASPX page
(even when distributed among severy ascx-controls).

kind regards,
david

Hi - I'm trying to move/use a web form (containing some javascript field checks) previously hosted on a Windows 2000 server. However, the FORM METHOD="post..." command in the form (shown below) now renders "Page not Found" when launched on the new Windows 2003 server (ws-server1). The form is designed to use the write.asp program to write to an Acccess database and is successful on any Windows 2000 server. This is frustrating because...

I want to be able to, depending on the state of the page, direct what the ENTER key causes the page to do. The problem I'm having is I have a user control with a textbox and an "enter" button. If this control is in a certain state, when the user hits the ENTER key on that page, I want the ENTER event to be sent to the ENTER button in that control, like the defuault button-clicking behavior I'm seeing when a button is in the form istelf...

Hello Gurus: I have a validation script (below) that is somehow messed up. If the Name field is blank, I get the alert message, then the browser window goes to a blank document with the word "false" on it. What the ?!?!?! To test, I commented out the 'return false;' code in the second IF block, so now if there is a value in Name then I get the alert message for Email and the page stays put.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
