Web Site & Search Engines

Hello,

I launched a web site some time ago and i am having problems in making it
visible in the search engines.

I used a lot of Keywords, not only in text but also in links, page and image
names.

I have 2 questions:
1. Can you tell me what else can i do?
2. Do you know any good Search Engine submission software? Should i even
look at it?

Well, any ideas and help will be welcome.

Thank You,
Miguel

Many search engine crawlers make use of meta tags in order to create their index.
Here is an article that tells you how to use hem <A href="http://searchenginewat ch.com/webmasters/article.php/2167931">How To Use HTML Meta Tags</A>

Also some search engine sites allow you to submit your web site to them. This will make sure they index it.

hope this helps,

Miguel,

This is not a very good group for search engine optimization.

I took a look at your site. I hope www.27lamps.com is the right address of
yoru site.

The problem of your site is that you used Flash there. Search engine does
not index content in Flash, that means from the point of search enigne, your
site has no content for them.
I wrote an article about Flash and Search engine, you can find it at

Hope this helps.

Hi, Having spent my free time over the last few months converting several hundred pages of mainly static (s)html into eight pages of data driven php loveliness and a whopping MySQL database I'm faced with a bit of a dilemma. Will search engines be able to crawl all the index.php?query paths so people can find stuff? I'm currently at the top of the heap on Google as my site has been around for years and is pretty niche and I don't want...

This is just a thought in my head at the moment and I wanted to get some opinions on an idea on how to design my web site. First, it would be a 100% (or very close to it) PHP site. The best way to descibe this thought would be to give a specific example. The site would revolve around a single .php file...index.php.

Hi Gurus How do I provide links that search engines can follow if my site is created in PHP and MySql and I always put the session ID in the link (header)? Are there any special tricks? Basically, I want the search engines to be able to find my pages. Do you need to know more, please ask. Cheers

Our site gets searched by robots all the time. This is great. However, many of our pages that we want to be cataloged are data driven, so we end up with pages like: www.ourdomain.com/products.aspx?productid=356 Let's assume that we stop selling productid 356. This means that the url above is invalid. If a general user has bookmarked this page or pastes in a url into a browser that isn't quite right, we want them to get a 'pretty'...

I have a standard look to my site so I thought I might just make all the pages .asp pages and use #include statements to grab all the common content, however I want to be sure that all the big search engines crawl it without a problem. I heard that some have problems with ASP even if the ASP is not that complicated.

Hi, Since I have made changes to my website it's been a complete flop. According to the logs, as soon as visitors have downloaded the index page they are off. I can't figure out why? http://www.review-a-gadget.com/ Is there anything obvious that I am missing? Are there problems with some browsers? Please let me know if you notice anything.

Hi I need to make at multilanguage language site, and for that I need to identify the users, and register there choice off language. For that i imagine using cookies, since this is the only way to identify the users. But from what I read search engines ignore cookies, and at the same time I would like the users to be able to send links in there choice of language to there friends, so I would like this sort of url scheme.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
