loss of session when using mode=stateserve r

I am losing my session state for some reason randomly and i don't know why
i store just simple things like an id for the user, and their username, etc.
maybe 10 items per user
it happens about every 5 min.

in my web.config file i have
<sessionstate
mode="StateServ er"
stateConnection String="tcpip=1 27.9.9.1:42424"
sqlConnectionST ring="data source=127...."
cookieless="fal se"
timeout="45"
/>

any ideas?
thanks

Check out the stateNetworkTim eout sessionState attribute. This allows you
to specify the timeout [in seconds] that the TCP/IP connection can be idle
before dropping the session. Just a thought, but it sounds like a
possibility given your symptoms.

OK, I think I understand session state pretty well. I've done additional research on Google over the last few days to fill in any holes. To begin with, I'm using StateServer and not InProc for SessionState mode in my web.config. In fact, that's the only mode Verio shared hosting supports. That should eliminate about 70% of the reasons Session objects get destroyed from what I can tell.

I have an intermittent problem that occurs on a very small number of browsers that access my website. The strange thing is this: my site works perfectly for 99.9% of browsers. The behavior described below occurs for 0.1% of users, and so far I've only seen it on IE 6.0. My ASP.NET website is set up like this: 1. Logon page - Collect username / password and verify against the DB. If OK, store the UserID in Session and redirect to Main...

Hi, I have a page with EnableSessionState=readonly in the page directive. A couple of strange things happen. When I try to add something to the session, I get no exception. Immediately after adding the dataset to the session, I can view it in my Watch window. The watch window also shows that the session is readonly. I would expect an exception when adding something to a readonly session.

I have been using the default session state (InProc) and have found that I have been loosing my information after a period of time (normally 20 minutes). Is there anyway to find out how much more time I have on a session? If I do a refresh, does reset the session clock? Do you have have to go to another page to reset the session timeout or will a postback also do it? This is important as we have a few pages that a user

Hi, I've got a problem with losing session state in ASP.NET version 2. It does it intermittently - sometimes it tanks - and sometimes it works OK. I've got the ASP.NET state service started - the separate process for state management: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- StateServer mode stores session state in a process, referred to as the ASP.NET state service, that is separate...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
