I migrated a Sharepoint Team Services website to a Sharepoint website
on Windows 2003. The site was working well on the old server.
After the migration any asp.net page that uses session variables no
longer works. I get the subject error.
The directory with the asp pages is NOT a managed path in Sharepoint.
The default page does not use Session State so opens fine. All the links
from that page use session state and none of them...

Why does Session_Start in Global.asax fire for every page opened during a
session of an ASP.NET application?
Am I wrong to expect that it would fire only when the first page (i.e., any
page in the app that is opened before any other page during the session) is
opened?
Thanks.

Hi,
I had a page the other day for which the compiler just wouldn't recognize
the fact that I had enabled session state in every possible way. I ended up
moving the code that dealt with the Session object from code-behind to
in-page and it worked. Didn't find an explanation though but it got me up
again.
Today it got worse. Now what sense does this make:

I keep getting this error.
"Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true,
either in a configuration file or in the Page directive"
This occurs when I try to add a session variable.
....
Session.Add("Nameplate", 1)
....
That is in a button click event.

I have some problems with my stateserver.
First my setup:
I am running ASP.NET 1.1.4322 SP 1.1 on one computer and the stateserver
on another computer.
Both of the machines are Dell Poweredge 2850 (dual processor machines with
2 GB memory).
The web server is serving traffic with 2000-4000 sessions and 20-40 requests/s.
The web pages are converted from ASP so there is no code behind-pages and
some COM-objects.
The stateserver machine is...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
