Depending on your needs, Crystal Reports is reasonably good. It is
also included in your purchase price of Visual Studio.

OK, I found a thread that help out from a while back (Oct 9, 2002) to give me this pattern: `(((f|ht)tp://)((+)(+)?@)?()+(:\d+)?(\/+)?)`i OK, all is well and good with this until the URL is used at the end of a sentance. I am assuming that I will need a negative lookahead somehow, but I just can't wrap my mind around this one... Want to match only the URL...

After having seen my co-worker reinventing the wheel when he busily labored to build MS Access framework, I want to share my perspective. Having experienced with Access, Visual Basic, Visual C++, and PowerBuilder, I think Sybase's PowerBuilder is the most productive tool to build front-ends for any database or client/server applications. PowerBuilder's datawindow is very powerful.

About 2 years ago, and as recently as perhaps 1 year ago, I can recall seeing many posts about what language to use with ASP.Net. The consensus was that employers paid more for C# programmers, and it seems that C# became the darling of the ASP.Net crowd. In the meantime, I have observed an interesting phenomenon. Originally, employers hired programmers who used C# because it was based on C, and the prevailing opinion was (and may still...

Apologies for the cross-post, but this truly is a two-sided question. Given the option of creating Looping statements within a stored proc of sql server or in the code-behind of an .net webpage, which would you choose and why? Reason I ask is I created a webpage which essentially runs through a litany of loops to determine which stored proc to kick off. This is written in the code-behind. It occurred to me that I could probably just...

Hello javascript group readers, I have a question regarding how to prevent memory leaks in Internet Explorer when using closures. I already knew about the circular reference problem, and until now was able to prevent memory leak problems. But I needed to store DOM elements and can't solve it anymore. So I search the group archive to see if I missed any valuable information. I found some interesting articles, but somehow could not apply...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
