Hi there
thanks for your earlier solution, I had a look at the site...but i was not very specific. The interface has to be custom made
and basically should have like a windows type explorer navigaton bar on the side, while the main page will just just load up any page which is clicked within the folder in an editable mode and after modifications are made you click submit to update that page before uploading it.

I am looking for the easiest web interface to a database. By easiest, I mean most rapid development. Because the requirements are so simple and standard, I'm hoping that something can take care of the grunt work. Easy maintenance, possibly by non-programmers (or at least "junior" programmers) would also be nice. I'm open to Perl, PHP, Java in that order (best solution wins, equal solutions go with the preferred language). I'm also open...

I have an application that is composed of a set of "Content" dlls and a viewer application. The viewer calls a standard set of functions that are present in all the dlls. I maintain this by making my contnent dlls implement an interface created in vb6. The viewer application is bound to this interface. This way, I am able to add Content without redeploying the dlls (I just have to add the new dlls). I want to write new content for...

Hi Folks, I've been away from this NG for quite a while, persuing other interests etc. I have made a few posts / replies here lately, and find this whole NG thing a little awkward and cumbersome.(I'm using Microsoft Outlook) Compare this with the hotrodders.com bulletin board (http://hotrodders.com/forum/) and you'll see what I mean ... it's awesome. You can include pictures with your posts (either as attachments if they are from your...

I've been asked to create a website where various office secretaries, in a university biology department, can update selected pages by filling out forms. In other words where privileged users upload ascii text to templating system of some kind. My options: I could try to roll this from scratch. I could use Textpattern I could use Drupal (written in php..........)

Using VS.NET I am wondering what methods developers use to deploy ASP.NET website content to a remote server, either using FTP or network file copy. Ideally there would be a one-button or one-key-chord way to upload a single file or a single site. In Dreamweaver, you can hit "Control-Shift-U" to upload a single file to the remote site you have configured. This is extremely handy when you're doing quickie fixes and development, more...

The website I am developing is implemented as a Single Page Interface (SPI). During a visitor's session all new content gets loaded by JavaScript (Ajax), no new pages get loaded and the URL in the address bar does not change. This has many advantages for the website application I am building (I will not go into the details of the advantages here), but the obvious down-side is that the visitor will get unexpected results when pressing the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
