CMS supporting interactive content editing.

I've been asked to create a website where various office secretaries,
in a university biology department, can update selected pages by
filling out forms.
In other words where privileged users upload ascii text to templating
system of some kind.

My options:
I could try to roll this from scratch.
I could use Textpattern
I could use Drupal (written in php..........)
If so (if I used Drupal) is there or are there any pre-existing
TextPattern like modules
for interactive 'text changing'
Or would I have to write my own Drupal module to do this?

I searched the Drupal site and didn't find what I was looking for (a
framework for interactive
content editing, by password privileged users who are not programmers).

Hi,

I believe Drupal has a TinyMCE module that gives you a nice WYSIWYG
editor. Joomla also uses TinyMCE by default.

Hi! I'm looking for a replacement for the standard interactive python shell. So far I've tried IPython and PyCrust. I liked both, but I'm not 100% happy with any of them. My main complaint about IPython is its missing support for multiline editing. To do multiline editing, it has to start an external editor, but then I lose all the nice...

This is sort of both Python and Vim related (which is why I've posted to both newsgroups). Python related: ---------------------- I have been frustrated for quite some time with a lack of a history command in IDLE (in fact with IDLE in general). Often I'll develop new code at the command line, testing each line as I go. Currently I have...

I have problem with TEXTAREA HTML tags in my Web application (MSIE 6.0). User fills-in content of TEXTAREA on HTML dialog window. After accepting, content of TEXTAREA from dialog window is copiedto TEXTAREA on main HTML window: wndTxtArea.value = dlgTxtArea.value; Then user may take the text for editing in HTML dialog windowonce more. ...

Hi comp.lang.python: New to the group and new to python, so don't tear me up too much ... I installed the GNU readline support in python2.4, and it is working, but there is one annoying behaviour that I am hoping to squash ... Namely, when I hit <esc> to go to edit mode, then hit 'k' to go up in the command history, the prompt is put at...

I have a question relating to WebParts implementation - I am trying to build a web part as a user control that can be used to manage content in a CMS. I have read a lot about the creation of web parts, editing web part properties etc, but I am struggling to find a straightforward solution - I was hoping that someone out there could shed some...

A couple of hopefully short (interrelated) questions: 1) is there a way to suppress the banner when starting Python interactively? Something like a "--quiet" that would just drop you straight to a prompt? I like to use Python as a nuclear-powered calculator, and am working on a couple little projects where it would be quite handy to...

PEP 1 specifies that PEP authors need to collect feedback from the community. As the author of PEP 3131, I'd like to encourage comments to the PEP included below, either here (comp.lang.python), or to python-3000@python.org In summary, this PEP proposes to allow non-ASCII letters as identifiers in Python. If the PEP is accepted, the...

I'm running PHP 5.2.6 on WindowsXP. When I try interactive mode with ">php -a" the slightest syntax error throws me out of the interpreter and back to the command line. This is not very useful. Isn't there a way to stay in interactive mode after a syntax error?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
