Has anyone solved the issue of translating lists in Word 2003 (WordML)
into xHTML? I have been trying to get the nested table code for my XSLT
to work for a while now, with no way to get the collection that I need.
To begin, I am using xsltproc that conmes with Cygwin as my processor.
I have no particular affinity to this processor except that it is open
source and standards compliant. I don't like M$, but if using a M$
processing...

Hi,
I created a COM AddIn for Word that performs the functions
that it needs to, but I needed to add the ability for the
toolbar created by the COM AddIn to remember it's last
position and whether it was docked or not. I added the
following code to my "OnConnection" function but it fails
with an error, "Run-time exception thrown :
System.IO.IOException - Bad file name or number."
With applicationObject.CommandBars("SampleToolbar")

Hello, I'm having an aggravating time getting the "html" spewed by Word
2003 to display correctly in a webpage.
The situation here is that the people creating the documents only know
Word, and aren't very computer savvy. I created a system where they
can save their Word documents as "html" and upload them to a certain
directory, and the web page dynamically runs them through tidylib using
the tidy extension to php4, thus causing the...

I am currently trying to replace certain strings, not
single characters, with other strings inside a word
document which is then sent to a browser as a binary
file. Right now, I read in the word file, convert the
FileStream into a string using Unicode encoding, then do a
replace, then convert the string back to a byte using
Unicode encoding which i then Response.WriteBinary(bytes)
to the browser. This works fine although the actual...

I am working(vb.net03and05) with word documents stored in a sql db and I am
currently bringing them from a byte array into a temp file to pop into word
and make word do its thing as a com object. Is it possible to go straight
from a byte array to document in word instead of a temp file? Also is there
a way to change the save behaviour to notify my app to pickup a binary copy
of the file or stream to save back to the sql db.
Thanks in...

I'm sending a message from VB.net (2003) to a C++ app via TCP sockets of
values 1 to 328. The message is a WORD value where I have to manage both
bytes for the WORD. I'm sending and receiving data from the C++ app with no
problem between the values of 1 to 127 and 256 to 328, but the application
receives garabage between 128 and 255. My current test syntax is as follows:
Dim nodeid As Integer = CType(txtMessage.Text, Integer)
Dim...

Hi everyone,
I'm using PHP and a DB to control access to files that have been
uploaded by users. I am using the following PHP code snippet to
deliver the file after the access rights have been checked.
$theFile = file_get_contents(UPLOAD_PATH.$storedName);
if($mimeExtension == '')
{
header("Content-Type: application/octet-stream\n");

Hello, i'm trying to paste copied text from word into an input box.
This text is saved into a oracle db and then used as text in another
javascript.
The problem is that using the saved text (encoded and decoded in the
db to avoid sql injection) have some special char that block the
javascript execution (i think is unicode char).
So i would like to detect and delete this char with a javascript
function (i can't disable copy and paste),...

Hi there,
I'm hoping this is the place to submit this, as really I am looking to
resolve the issue before the data is sent to the database.
I have a website, with a textarea, that stores data in an nvarchar(4000)
field, the insert is done via a stored procedure. The data is sent as HTML
Encoded.
This works fine when data is manually entered, however if the user enters

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
