Hello,
I'm currently working on a program that has to read values from the windows
registry.
I use the functions "RegOpenKeyEx", "RegCloseKey" and "RegQueryValueEx" for
that.
If I can read the manual correctly (which I hope I can) I have to include
windows.h, winnt.h and winreg.h
The constructor of one of my classes looks like this:

Hi,
I'm beginning to approach Windows programming in C++. I've written
a short
application which is to do nothing more than demonstrate the Window
style being used. The child windows are not appearing within the
parent window. Could someone point out the cause?
Thank you in advance,
Anthony

In Windows XP display Properties/Appearance users can chose between:
Windows XP Style or Windows Classic Style.
Is there a way in VBA to determine the user's selection?
The reason:
Toolbars size taller in XP than in Classic so I need to size all those
nifty windows sizing commands depending on the user's preference.

Further to my last post, I have managed to get a child window to display. But its messages are routed to the same WNDPROC that the main window's messages are routed to - what is the way of identifying from the lParam or wParam whether the message came from a child window or the parent? And what if the message uses some other data in the wParam or lParam? Is it better to use one wndproc for the parent window, and one wndproc for all child windows...

I'm having trouble with PHP & PostgreSQL/OpenLDAP/Apache on Windows.
I've set this up countless times on BSD (piece of cake) but I'm trying
to do this on Windows now so that my developer can work on her local
machine.
Everything looks pretty good. OpenLDAP/cygwin works great. PostgreSQL
works great. Apache runs. PHP runs.
But when I try to connect to my PostgreSQL server using PHPPgAdmin, I

Hello,
Can you please let me know the procedure to reach db2 command prompt
from a cygwin window (hence without using Start-> Run -> db2cmd
method). I'm planning to write shell scripts which accesses DB2
database on windows platform hence I installed cygwin but I'm unable to
connect to database as it fails with the error message.
$ db2

Hello
While googling for this topic I found lots of advice on how to use
@media rules to _hide_ stuff from Mac IE. Anyway, actually _using_
@media to write media specific CSS for both Win and Mac IE 5 seems to be
less covered. (I know Mac IE is dead, but some of my audiences possibly
still use older computers...)
So this is what I tried so far to apply specific style sheets for screen
and print:

Hey there.
So over the time I've been gone, I got engaged. I am now making an information site for my and my fiances wedding.
The problem is that on every page I use a table inside a DIV. I do this to make everything look nice and sorted. It display perfectly in IE, Safari, FF for Mac, but not in FF for windows.
In FF for windows, the "content" div doesn't even recognize that the table exists as a table (similar to containing div...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
