Norton Firewall causes '0 bytes download' problem.

I have a web page that allows a user to download data by clicking on a link
button. I then use Aspose.Excel (v1.0.3705) to generate the file for
download and then
I call the "Save" method on the Aspose.Excel object to send it to the
Response object. One of our users has Norton Firewall installed and when he
tries to download a large amount of data he gets a message ""0 bytes
downloaded". It works OK with smaller files. When he disables the Norton
then both large and small files download OK. Has anyone had any experience
with this problem?

Yes, last week this popped up at work with norton firewall. This is probably
a norton tech support issue and not asp.net. Have you tried their customer
support? In our case, we advised the client that it wasn't our software
causing the problem and were under no obligation to repair or trouble-shoot
the problem.

Hi all, As says the topic, I recently encountered problems with customers using one of my file management applications and being protected in the same time with Norton Internet Security firewall. When the Security is not activated, downloading files works fine, but as soon as it is activated they can not download anything bigger than 500kb ! I checked in the source code, and whatever the method to read the file on the server (readfile,...

Hello All, I have recently had the pleasure of installing Norton Internet Security 2005 and finding that I can no longer create or open a web-based application in Visual Studio .Net. The IDE just freezes. I tried fiddling with the configuration settings of the Norton Firewall but was not successful. I tried launching IIS from the Control Panel and it would not launch. I saw one article in Groups.Google from a previous post that the...

Hi, If you use Norton Internet Security, you might be having the same problem I'm having when developing on Visual Studio .net. Before, when using vb6, I had only once to set a rule on the firewall to permit VB6.exe to access the internet and I could run any project without getting the "Program Control" pop-up window. Now, with visual studio .net, every time I run/debug a project, that annoying "Program Control" window pops up and I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
