Is there a way to have a windows service instantiate a class that is a web
service, which will then be accessible to clients via HTTP?
Thanks,

Hey all....
I'm writing an app that needs to send/recieve data from other applications
running, I guess you could think of it as a data relay broker between running
applications. I had planned on creating a windows service to handle this,
but I found out that I cannot directly send/recieve data here, i can only
signal it. First off, am I wrong in this assumption? Secondly, I have also
noticed some people talking about creating a...

I'm having trouble with PHP & PostgreSQL/OpenLDAP/Apache on Windows.
I've set this up countless times on BSD (piece of cake) but I'm trying
to do this on Windows now so that my developer can work on her local
machine.
Everything looks pretty good. OpenLDAP/cygwin works great. PostgreSQL
works great. Apache runs. PHP runs.
But when I try to connect to my PostgreSQL server using PHPPgAdmin, I

I need to call a console app (dtexec) from a windows service in a
client/server architecture. I have the application setup so that the
client application is called with a package name, which makes a call to
a dll on the remote server. I have read up on this on the web and I
know that you can't run a GUI app from within windows service, but
apparently console apps are ok. I am trying exactly that but it's not
working. Here is my code:

Hi
I would like to see an example, how can i write an windows service, which communicates with IPC Channel and a Form GUI.
I have written some tests, but i receive an IPC-Port error: Access denied.
I would like see an example, where i can see the functionality with IPC-Channel + Windows Servcice + GUI.
Nice to have: implemented eventhandling, that the windows service update the GUI, when something changes in the services!

Cross Platform Migration An Unproblematic Approach (Windows-UNIX ) Oracle 10\11g
The principal restriction on cross-platform transportable database is that the source and destination platform must share the same endian format.
Redo log files and control files from the source database are not transported to destination database . New control files and redo log files are created for the new database during the transport process, and an ...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
