I thought this is more of an IE issue but i've had no joy on that group
perhaps somebody here will have a clue.
If i click a link to a web page embedded in Excel (97 OR 2000) i get the
standard error page displayed by IE (you know, the 'cannot find server or
dns error' page).
Turning off 'show friendly http error messages' alleviates this.
(Unfortunately this is the Windows default setting!)
Whats going on?!?!

Hi all... This question is more for the GURUs out there. It is not a
question on how to do something, but why it happens, and I am trying to
figure out if there is a pattern. I am using IE, but this pattern also
happens in Mozilla, but not always the same way... I am not as interested in
how the browsers are different, but the big question is: Is there a pattern
to what type of actions are delayed for after the scripts have finished, and...

I am using Fritz Onion's "Asynchronous Pages" approach as mentioned in

to increase the performance of my ASPX page.I am using the Custom

Due to the behaviour of a particular COM object, I need to ensure that a
request for a particular ASP page is finalized before another request for
the page is processed. Does IIS have a way to ensure that subsequent
requests will be queued until the current request is completed?
If not, can IIS be configured to use seperate processes to satisfy requests
for a nominated ASP page?
Thanks in advance.

I have a page name edit.asp which should expire immediately .The user
cannot open this page directly he has to provide a password for
entering this page.thus when the user enters edit.asp , it has a button
EDIT ,which when user clicks directs him to another page (done.asp).
Now the problem is that from this page (done.asp) if he clicks on the
back button on the toolbar then edit.asp opens. But I don't want it to
open It should show page...

Writing ASP.NET pages, I have a need for client-side functions to prevent going to the server for every small change.
I have a list of server side created checkboxes filled with a lot of information being presented in a form on my site. In a JavaScript setup function, I attach the following event handler (I know syntax is wrong, I just simplified it for purposes within this post):
<for every checkbox>onchange = function()

Come across an issue with IIS process HTTP request one by one, not
simultaneously.
I have a page that takes a long time to process.
When the page is accessed by 2 seperate browser, both request will be
processed the same time. But if the 2nd browser is opened by IE->File->New
Window, when the 2 browsers try to access the same page, the requests are
handle sequentially.
Same behaviour with 2 firefox browser.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
