Question: Placing X on a image by clicking on it?

I have a picture/image of a state map. I want the user to be able to click
anywhere on the picture to place an 'x' (actually a hyperlink to another
site). How can I do this?

Thanks,
Robert

Note: I tried cross-posting this message to several newsgoups, including comp.lang.perl.misc, c.l.p.moderated, comp.infosystems.www.authoring.cgi, comp.lang.javascript and comp.lang.php. Nothing appeared on my news server, so I'm trying again - this time posting a separate copy of the message to each group. I'm thinking this should be fairly easy to accomplish - a quick and dirty ... what? ... script? program?

Hi fellas. I have a problem. I am trying ot get a popup window to appear in the center of the screen, both vertically and horozontally. I am trying to display a large version of an image in this window... but the image size varies. I now have to know the size of the image before I can center it properly. So, this is the code I am using. fnFullView = function () { var _mediumLargeImage = new Image(); _mediumLargeImage.src =...

I've got a couple of errors on my site that I'm not sure how to fix. I'm using simple CSS for both text rollovers and my horizontal navbar, and here's what happens. First, the site: www.sunbadgeco.com/sunmetal/index.htm #1 { In IE6, rolling over an image in the navbar makes it "light" up. Clicking on the image takes you to another page (which is not finished). Then clicking the Back button keeps the image you just clicked on "lit" up,...

I am attempting to create drop down menus for a web page. The simplist approach I see is to create two images. One is a tab image and the other is a menu image. In my code a present the tab image when the page loads. Associated with the tab image is a mouseover event to show the menu image by replaceing the image source.. A usemap is used to provide the links on the menu image. Click and off you go. If you move off the menu without...

Hello, I am trying to open a window containing an image and I would like the image to be flush against the window -- i.e. have no padding or border. Can I make this happen with a single call to a window.open function? I would prefer not to create a separate HTML page. So far all I have is the basic var cwin = window.open('images/KJV-THANKS.gif', 'Thanks', 'width=243,height=420,'); cwin.focus();

Extracting an Icon and Placing It On The Desktop (C# Language) I constructed a suite of programs in C++ several years ago that handle my financial portfolio, and now I have converted them to C#. The only significant problem that I have encountered in the conversion is this one - extracting an icon from the 'KTEntryPoint' program into the software suite and placing that icon on the PC Desktop.

C# newbie here. I'm creating a page that will use a repeater control to display thumbnail images. I want to have a button next to each image so that the user can delete a particular image by clicking on the 'delete' button next to it. I'm having trouble determining how to pass the id of the image to my codebehind when the user clicks a particular delete button.

I have a simple Access database with 4 tables so far. Here is my question: Talble 2 lists "vulns" and there descriptions. Each has its own primary key and relates to table 1. Table 3 lists "controls" and there descriptions. Each has its own primary key. Many of each can relate to many in table 2. Table 4 is a Merge Table, listing each primary key from table 2 and its relation (primary key) from table 3.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
