Overiding Page Class

Hey im Overiding OnInit in my Custom Page class
What i want to be able to do is pass in Some Values
Ie PageID PageCategory, PageSubCategory
How can i pass in some Vairables So my Custom Page class can see these
Imports System.Web

Imports System.Web.UI

Imports System.Data

Namespace MTT.PageClasses

Public Class GenericPage

Inherits System.Web.UI.P age

Protected Overrides Sub OnInit(ByVal e As System.EventArg s)

Dim myCtrl As Control

For Each myCtrl In Page.Controls

Response.Write( myCtrl.ID)

Next

End Sub

End Class

End Namespace
Also another question is it possible to Inherit The page class more than
once
I want a GenericPageClas s That Does Some Work on OnInit

I want Another MainPageClass That Inherits Generic Page Class And i want to
do some work OnInit Int this sub
The problem seems that Im using Overload that cuases only One of the OnInits
To Fire

Is there a way i can get these 2 OnInit Subs Perform Different to the one
page

Thanks

Hi, Is it possible to restrict overiding a function in derived class? To be more clear, I have base class with function foo() and I do not want any derived class to implement foo() again. Always base version of foo() should be called on any derived class object. Can I do that? Thanks.

Ok, before anyone freaks out, I have a solution I need to create that gathers content from maybe different places. Each one can return a <form> in the html, so its the classic can't have more than one runat=server form on a asp.net page. However, I still want developers to be able to use asp.net controls to create some apps that are created on the page. So I need multiple forms on a asp.net page(doesn't everyone). I purchased the...

I can't make this script work properly. I've gone as far as I can with it and the rest is out of my ability. I can do some html editing but I'm lost in the Java world. The script at the bottom of the html page controls the form fields that are required. It doesn't function like it's supposed to and I can leave all the fields blank and it still submits the form. Also I can't get it to transfer the file in the upload section. The file name...

In my old 1.1 apps the default was MS_POSITIONING="GridLayout" and Textboxes and labels and such always had POSITION: absolute; and I never had any distortion when the page was rendered. Life was good. now in 2.0 I'm using the default placeholder and putting a table in the placeholder and putting controls in the cells in the table. "the way it is supposed to be done" I have a textbox in a table that is defined as follows... <td...

Hello Guys and Galls, To start off, I have reached the solution I was looking for, but I would like comments and feedback on the solution I have reached and tips/tricks on making it more elegant. I am not satisfied with the underlying machinery of the solution though. I am an advanced C programmer and most do object-based programming in C++. Please do not reply to this article with references to basic material or obvious tips. An...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
