I have created an application that uses IIS to host remote components. All
the remote components are listed in app.config in client and web.config in
server. Now the app.config can contain either localhost name/IP address to
point to
remote component like <wellknown type="XYZ, XYZ"
url="http://localhost:80/XYZ" />. Remoting configuration is done using
RemotingConfiguration.Configure("XYZ.exe.config") in application's main

Hi,
(1) I want to be able to return the programs running
locally on MachineA in my network from MachineB.
(2) I also want to be able to kill a process running on
MachineA after I have determined the process running.
Are these 2 possible?

On a domain controller, the ASPNET (v1.1) worker process (aspnet.wp.exe)
runs under the IWAM_machinename acount (IIS 5). I have expressly denied this
user the logon locally right in the domain controller GPO and yet this
profile gets created under the Document and Settings folder. The
IWAM_machinename registry hive remains loaded when the process ends. I have
to manually unload it with regedt32.exe. Is this normal behavior?

We're in the process of writing a new Windows Forms app and the desktop
support folks want for it to be run from a network share. I know it's
possible (i.e., just have the framework on the clients and a desktop
shortcut to the exe out on the network)... but is it really a good idea?
What are some arguments for and against running a .NET Windows Forms client

When I run my scripts on a http server I can use the
$_SESSION to get the dir of the scripts and stuff(I have my
local file system laid out exactly as the one on my server.
The issue is that when I run the script without using session_start I have
to set the document root manually. Now every time I switch from running
locally to a web server I have to comment out the line. Its not a big deal
but I'm wonder if I could somehow tell php to...

I have a pretty basic emailing script that sends a relatively small number
(150) of html emails.
The emails are compiled, personalised from a mysql db subscribers list,
and sent using mail() - after sending, a small summary html page is sent to
the user with number sent, time taken and a simple navigation choice. Up to
about 100 emails it all works fine - this takes the server about 27 secs .

I have a vb.net 2005 project and have made a lot of modifications to it. The
project runs fine in debug mode. Now I want to implement it and first I am
running the executable on my machine to make sure it runs properly...
However, when I run it locally as an executable, I get no end to run time
