Hello,
If you point your browser to this page,
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/vnc-tight/tightvnc-1.2.9_x86_viewer.zip?use_mirror=umn
the server sends you the HTML page, and very soon afterwards, you are
prompted to do a 'Save-As' for a file to download.
How do they do that without the classic "Headers already sent" error?

I have a requirement to record in a database when a file is finished
downloading to the end-user. Currently when a user clicks a download icon
for a file it directs to an ASP page that records the "hit" into a database,
then I use a response.redirect "filename.exe" to point the user to the
download. What I'm missing is knowing when the download is complete so I
can update the database to show the file successfully completed its
download....

great but the response finishes after the download completes. How do
I redirect the users to a new friendly page after the download

prefer not to use popup windows as alot of people are blocking them.
I just want them to click a download...

Hi all
I have an ASP.net website that uses an aspx page locate and stream a file to an authenticated user and I'm getting the error

The problem is that when a user cancels...

I'm hoping someone can help with this problem; I've seen only a handful of
postings related to it, but with no clear resolution.
I have an ASP.NET 1.1 page that downloads requested files via the
"Response.BinaryWrite(...)" method. The problem is that the page is
dynamically built, and after the download completes all javascript functions
suddenly break or exhibit unpredictable behavior.
I've traced the issue down the use of the...

Hi All,
Using JavaScript, how do I download a file to a user's computer that I have
stored on the server in a relatively browser indepdent way? That is will
work on Mozilla and Macintosh Safari browsers just as well as IE?
Thanks in advance,

Hi
I currently have a site where users can upload files. These files can
be doc, wmv, jpeg, xls, dwf, dwf and dwg.
These files are uploaded to /home/**user**/uploads and not /home/
**user**/public_html/uploads to prevent any old user from browsing
them.
I then use a general showDoc page with the following function (from

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
