I have written a stored procedure to list out all tables in which
rows or the table itself is locked. The only information I am
not able to get is the time when the lock occurred. The way I
want is that if I run the procedure it should show all locks
on a table which are at least 5 or x seconds old. This way I can
avoid momentary locks on a table which go away after few seconds.
Which table and column of master database has that...

Hi All,
I have a database that is serving a web site with reasonably high
traffiic.
We're getting errors at certain points where processes are being
locked. In particular, one of our people has suggested that an update
statement contained within a stored procedure that uses a where
condition that only touches on a column that has a clustered primary
index on it will still cause a table lock.

I apologize if this is a RTFM question, but I have not been able
to find a definitive answer elsewhere.
Does a "REINDEX TABLE" lock the table while it is working?
Can applications write data to the table during the REINDEX?
I am working on a real-time application that handles over 2 million
"events" per day and runs 7-by-24. Most of these events involve an
UPDATE to one or two tables, though a small subset involve a bit
more work. ...

I`m exporting data from many Lotus Notes databases to a DB2 database
using LotusScript. The LotusScript agents commit after EACH
update/insert. Nevertheless, I keep getting transaction rollbacks on
deadlock or timeout. When I get a snapshot for locks, I see that one
of the export agents is getting a table lock rather than a row lock.
I`m guessing this is what causes the time out. Questions: how do I
determine whether it`s a deadlock or a...

We are looking for a command/SQL statement that cancels all table/row
locks in DB2.
The reason for this is:
1) computer A was a sole client of DB2, and crashed
2) computer B automatically (in our scenario) becomes the new and only
DB2 client, and executes the same application as A.
3) at this time, DB2 still holds locks from transactions started on A,
untill certain timeout expires, AFAIK. We would like to cancel this
timeout time.

I have come across a bizzare behaviour with DB2/UDB 8.2 on SuSE Linux
2.41
When I have a MQT Refresh going on (complete refresh) it appears to
lock the underlying base tables used to build the MQT.
When I attempt to SELECT these tables in other sessions, it simply
refuses to yield and are waiting for the MQT to finish.
Any clues ? Is this the intended behaviour?

Hi - I have a database on a network, and each user logins using a
shortcut from his PC to the shared database. There is a table created by
a make-table query that locks up whenever more than one user is in the
database. It doesn't matter that the users open completely different
clients, forms, etc, as long as there are more than one user opens the
database this table locks up. And the function that recalculates the
amount doesn't work.

Hi all,
I have an .mdb file (access database) which has been set to table level
locking (i.e. not just records in question, but the whole table). The
database is also in sharing mode (ie. not exclusive)...
here is my problem:
i have an application that accesses the aforementioned database from Jet
ODBC driver and runs a query which implicitly locks the whole table -

Hello,
I have been successfully using a database I've created for several months to populate an equipment list for a project we've been working on. However, the form has recently stopped working for some unknown reason. I've been having a problem recently where one table (Project Info) keeps auto-incrementing when I try to create a new record with another table (Equipment Info). Only the Equipment table is supposed to grow. It used to never...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
