Hi,
I am trying to investigate if some of our fairly complex views
couldn't be materialised with MQT's.
Unfortunately the error message returned when the fullselect is
invalid is as
shown at the bottom of this post.
This message does little/nothing to help me(the user) understand what

I created a MQT defined as:
select a.col1,a.col2,a.col3,b.col1.b.col2
from a , b
where a.id = b.id
Now, I execute this query which get rewritten to the MQT:
select a.col1,b.col1, c.val
from a, b, c
where a.id = b.id
and a.col2 = c.id

Hi,
Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm a bit new to C++.
I've been handed over a C++ app written in VS2002 which I have to convert to
VS2005. Apparently it's been written in a C style, but cannot comment
myself!
Following the conversion I have numerous errors, which following some
digging around turns out to be because _export is obsolete, and

Hello everyone,
I am currently trying to create a materialized query table which
should be in-sync all the time. So my first attempt was to use the
"REFRESH IMMEDIATE" option of the create table statement. However, due
to the complexity of the underlying query, this is not allowed.
As performance is not an issue and I absolutely want to have the MQT
in-sync my next try was to create a trigger on the base tables of the
MQT. This...

Hi,
I figured out that MQT's can not perform outer joins if you choose
refresh immediate. Does anybody know if this feature is planned for
any future fixpacks or versions?
If not, any ideas for similar solutions? At the moment I implemented
the MQT manually by writing the triggers and changing the
application.
Sincerelly,

We tried to use MQT in our environment, but with the biggest MQT
we always run into this problem:
DB21034E The command was processed as an SQL statement because it was not a
valid Command Line Processor command. During SQL processing it returned:
SQL0964C The transaction log for the database is full. SQLSTATE=57011
Because it is not sufficient to increase the transaction log over the
current (already big) size we are wondering...

Hi, all.
I'm trying to implement a REFRESH IMMEDIATE MQT to help with
performance of a particularly sluggish query.
I cannot create it with REFRESH IMMEDIATE, because of reason code
"10", whatever that is. I am able to implement it with REFRESH
DEFERRED, but that's not really suitable.
I need to get a handle on these reason codes.

I am trying to get a SQL stored procedure to use user maintained MQT
implicitly which raises questions on when they are used or not used.
In theory you would expect the stored procedure to pick up the MQT at
the time it is bound on the creation of the static SQL. This raises
the question on how you stop it or start it using a MQT as there is no
option on the bind. What happens when it is rebound? What happens if
the plan is made invalid...

i have two questions:
1. A query plan only shows estimated cost and size at each operator.
is it possible to show the actual cost/cardinality of each plan
operator after running the query?
2. I created user-defined MQT with "enable optimization" option, and
bring it out of integrity pending state, however, I found the query
optimizer will never use this MQT for query processing. Is there any
reason for it? (how shall i debug)?

I am runnig v95.
I have a query "select * from A, B where B.b<2000"
I create a MQT as "select * from A,B where B.b<2000" (identitcal to
the query), and the optimizer will use this MQT to answer this query.
However, if I submit the query using paramter marker "select * from
A, B where B.b<?", and later fill in this paramter using value
"2000", the optimizer will never use this MQT to answer the query.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
