Unonload doesn't get much time when quitting the browser. So how can you
do time-consuming actions then?
I'm doing a web-based MySQL interface. Records are presented as tables of
links. The problem is check-in/check-out: Who can change which record when?
So far I have a "session" approach: on login, user gets a session ID valid
for some amount of time. Editable records have a database column for storing
session ID:s. When user tries to...

Hi,
In our asp.net app, we need to capture the event when user
close the browser window by clicking on the "x" button.
But it doesn't seem to be as easy as it sound. Can someone
show me how to do this?

I want to use onunload to capture user's action when he
clicks on the "x" button to close the browser. Here is how
I do this:
<SCRIPT FOR="window" EVENT="onunload">
myScript();
</SCRIPT>
While myScript() does get called when "x" gets clicked, it
is also get called when the user leaves the current page
and navigate to another page within our web application.

Hi all,
I am writing an ASP.Net app. I first read application data from Sql Server
and store it in a DataSet. When the user is no longer running the
application, I would like to save the contents of the DataSet. I know I can
probably use Page_Unload event. But will the Page_Unload event fire if the
user closes the browser window?
Thanks.

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with trapping the <BODY>
onUnload() event in ASP.NET?
The thing is, I'm writing code for an Intranet site. The code makes a
call to a third-party component (think of it as a lock) when the page
loads. Now the OK and Cancel server buttons I can handle and use to
release the lock as required. But previously in classic ASP I had
been trapping the user hitting the close 'x' button by...

Hi all,
I am trying to get a way by which I'll know exactly when user goes out
of my site by clicking on close button in browser, So that w/e user
click close button in browser, I can send a signal to server.
This seems to be achievable with body unload events, but it is little
too much, as even if user navigate within my site, this event will be
generated, this can be avoided by handling onclick of each link, so
that I'll know exactly...

I need to ensure that session variables are removed whenever someone leaves
my web site. My understanding is that this should be happening
automatically with the session mode set to InProc. But it's not. Every
machine I'm testing this on does the same thing, but then again, everyone is
using Internet Explorer 7.0 with multiple tabs active.
Also, this problem just popped up, probably due to a change I've made, but I
don't have a clue...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
