I have multiple functions that dynamically build parts of a page. It
can take 15-30 seconds for this process to complete. In IE nothing
appears until the page is complete. In Netscape parts of the page
appear as built.
Is there any way to display a "Please Wait" message that displays as
soon as the first javascript begins and disappears when the javascripts
have completed? Some scripts are in the header and some in the body. I
have...

Hi,
This is a realy tricky one.
I have an ASP.NET application where some pages are reading data from a
DB and presenting reports.
In order for the user to wait while the page is reading data from the
DB I am using a DIV with a please wait message which is removed once
the page is loaded.
In addition I am using a global error handling using the
Application_Error void in the Global.asax file.
when the application is loading a page which...

user enters credit card details and click on submit button. This request is
then processed by the gateway which usually takes from 5-10 sec of waiting
period to get response back if the transaction was approved of declined.
I want to implement page which says "Please wait...your request is being
processed." after user clicks on submit button and before I...

I have a small javascript/html code below that demonstrates that
problem I'm having in a larger program. I've tried all kinds of things
to get it to work, but it just won't do what I want. I've tried
setTimeout, setInterval. In this dumb, but valid example, i want to
display an iframe that loads google. Before it loads I want to display
a 'processing' indicator in green in the middle of the window. Then,
when it is done, it is to turn...

Hi,
I have a webservice that returns a byte for an image. I'd like to
disaplay an image while the webservice is being contacted and then once the
byte is available show that and remove the please wait image.
I was thinking of trying to use the CallBack mechanism but wondered if AJAX
would be better suited.
I'd really just appreciate some ideas on how this could be acheived. I'll

Hi all,
I have database actions that will potentially take several seconds to
complete.
My normal page uses AJAX so keeping the user informed of what is
happening is not a problem.
However, the page also has fallback code in case of no Javascript. In
this case I would like to display temporary "please wait" type page

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
