Read cookie expiry date?

How does one read and write the cookie expiration date. At the moment my
code is returning a value BUT a garbled value:
'//Write cookie...
Response.Cookie s("Propsect").E xpires = Date() + 1

'//Read cookie...
ExpDate = Request.cookies ("Propsect")
Response.write "Prospect expiry date: " & expDate & "<br>"
Result: u%5Fname=k

?

Any ideas?
Thanks
Jason

Cookie exipration dates are write-only. You cannot read them.

Hi all. I'm trying to set a cookie expiry date but my script is JS (JavaScript). I've tried Response.Cookies("Test").Expires = Date(); Response.Cookies("Test").Expires = Date().toLocaleString(); Response.Cookies("Test").Expires = Date().toString(); Response.Cookies("Test").Expires = Date().toUTCString();

How does the expire date work setting it server side with asp. I know with javascript setting it client side it will be set to the clients local time, and therefore expire when the clients local time reaches the set expire-time. But if it is an expire time set on my server in California, and the cookie is put on a computer that is running on London Time, and the expire time is set at the server as 20 minutes from now, the London computer...

I can't find a cookie that my code is writing. The behavior of my webpages indicates that the cookie IS being written SOMEPLACE. However, I can't find it. My client does not want the code going into production unless they can actually see where the cookie is being written. They are concerned that the cookie may stay around after they leave the screen and grant authorization to other users to get to web pages that they are now allowed...

When I reference document.cookie, there is a long string of key=value; pairs listed. I may have 100 hundred cookies on my hard drive. However, most only have one key=value pair. Does the document.cookie variable combine all cookie key=value pairs? All of the examples I've seen discuss referencing a specific cookie. I don't see how this is done. Cookies are usually named by the domain. If I want to reference a specific cookie, do I...

Hi All, I have a page with a list of hyperlinks. I want to save information in a cookie about the fact that I entered an hyperlink or not. When I click one of the hyperlinks I want this stored in a cookie and a small bullit shown in front of the hyperlink, so when I reload the page I can immediately see which hyperlinks I already visited that day.

Hi, I am using cookies to keep track if a user is logged into my system, and would like to display the time that the user has left logged in. One solution is to display the time left until the cookie expires. Does anyone know how to retrieve the expiry time of a particular cookie? TIA

Hi people, I have a problem with cookies set via javascript. What I try to achieve is, when a user comes on the intranet, he can click on a link ( a simple href) that will set the content to french or english. I want to set a cookie to persist that choice each time the user comes back on the intranet. This feature must be available everywhere on the intranet and the link is placed in an inner asp script called Menu.asp which is...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
