I've made a chat page using php and javascript. Which is nice. But I'd
really like the title bar to flash when a new message appears for users who
have minimised the window, like msn. Does any body know how do do this? The
only one's i've found animate the title text, which isn't what i'm going
for.
Thanks :)

Hello,
I know there is no way in Javascript to make the task bar flash when your
window is minimised. However, I found out recently that if a javascript
alert is sent to netscape when the window is minimised the task bar will
flash! msie however doesn't do this, it will happily put the alert box up
infront of all your other windows. My question is: Is there any way to tie
this box down to this window so a minimised msie window will flash...

Hello Everybody
Can you let me know of a javascript/dom routine that will automatically put
the flashing cursor in the first text box in my form so that it is ready for
entry rather than the user having to click into the first textbox with their
mouse.
Please note that my forms are created dynamically so I won't know the given
name of the first textbox so some form of index would be better.

Strange problem on A2K. A continuous form is getting some sort of strobe
effect on several systems that have been upgraded to Windows XP (never saw
the problem on Win2K). One of the text boxes is flashing the contents.
Users are calling it "Slot Machine Mode". Anyone ever run into something
like this?
Any suggestions appreciated.

If I open a report using this code it "flashes" as it opens:
DoCmd.OpenReport "NumbersByDate", acViewPreview
DoCmd.Maximize
This is probably to be expected.
If I open the same report using this code it still flashes:
DoCmd.Echo False

I have tried everything under the sun to get rid of horrible flashing
and flickering that occurs on a CSharp form when the form hosts a
TreeView or WebBrowser control and then you resize the form.
Here is what I've tried so far:
1. Turning off CS_VREDRAW and CS_HREDRAW in both the parent form and a
subclass of the control via the "override CreateParams" property
(these values were already off).
2. Setting various styles and handling...

Hi,
On my ASPx.NET page I have quite a lot of controls, so it takes a little
time to build it.
Because of this when you click on a button, the page is redrawn and whatever
the action was, the page is changed.
But most of the time, not always strangely enough, there is a white page
when the old page (the page is in black background) is discarded and the new
page is loaded.
So everytime one clicks on a button, you'll get a white flash on...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
