Syntax Highlighting and Intellisense for ASP 3.0 in VS 2005?

1 New Member
Wondering if anyone knew how to have the ability to have syntax highlighting and Intellisense dropdowns for classic ASP 3.0 pages from within Visual Studio 2005. The catch is, we are not allowed to install IIS locally on our development workstations where I am contracting - therefore, asp.dll and related components are not installed to be referenced.

Is there any way to install these components successfully or at least register them without installing IIS? Is there another way to successfully get Syntax Highlighting or Intellisense for "Classic ASP" pages? I have had to work on a large volume of ASP 3.0 applications in addition to .NET applications. All I have at my disposal for tools is Visual Studio 2005 Professional, and VS 2005 Express Versions. Again I repeat, I cannot install IIS locally at all. Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated, thanks!

I use xemacs and syntax highlighting for my IDE, but I'm not a big fan of the default syntax highlighting colors. For instance, in 'def fun():' both 'def' and 'fun' are the same color. I kind of like the vim colors, but what would be really useful is to find various examples of highlighting that people have used, to see which ones just look right. I looked through google groups but didn't find any source of highlighting examples. Is...

I seem to have problems when working with large Windows Forms files. What happens is that hte editor looses its syntax color highlighting and Intellisense capability on large files. The code works - it compiles and runs fine, but the syntax color highlighting goes away. All formatting blows up too and the editor no longer helps with indentations. Needless to say this is frustrating. If I recompile then color returns but as soon as I...

Everyone I have been spending weeks looking on the web for a good tutorial on how to use regular expressions and other methods to satisfy my craving for learning how to do FAST c-style syntax highlighting in C# but I have yet to find anything useful I know there are people at MS that know this stuff like the front of their hand and I know there are many people out on the web that are proficient in doing this as well but it seems nobody...

Greetings, I'm creating a program that I don't intend to profit from so I don't want to know about any pricy controls (such as essential edit $499 ouch). I am looking for a syntax highlighting .NET winform component. Hopefully it will have line numbering and the ability to specify my own numbering or place whatever text I want in where the line number otherwise would be or in some sort of margin next to the numbers but not editable by...

I am currently creating a compile on demand asp.net application because I need to query a database and return only an xml string using Response.Write, but visual studio wont colour or give me intellisense in a .aspx file that doesn't have code behind I assume there is no way to make it do that, but I would like to know for sure. The documentation for asp.net shows how to make compile on demand apps but it appears that visual studio doesn't...

Hello all- I'm developing a Content Management software for my own site, and possibly package and deploy to other sites (for friends, family, etc.) The content management software is combined blog, photo, and site management tools. One the of the tools I would find INREDIBLY helpful is the ability to block out and syntax highlight code. I would like to be able to, as I'm writing a blog post about something I've done in Python (for...

I have a program where the user inputs some proprietary code in an editor. I would like to use a windows form editor control that automatically does syntax highlighting & intellisense (after I define the vocabulary). 1) How would I do that myself? Any tips and/or links? 2) Are there any open source projects that offer this functionality? 3) What commercial products do offer this (at a reasonable price)? Thanks

Are there any free PHP libraries/utility functions that can color the syntax of various programming languages (eg. Java and C++)? I am posting code snippets on my site and would like to know if there is a way to easily give them syntax highlighting automatically. Thanks! -- Christoph Burschka <christoph.burschka@rwth-aachen.de>

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
