Clearing a Submit

I have a form with 4 different Submit buttons. In the action code, I do a
request on the button names to see which one is valued. This all works
great, until the browser is refreshed -- the request shows the name of the
last button pressed. Is there a way to clear all the buttons so they don't
appear to have been pressed when they've only been refreshed?

When the browser is "refreshed" , where are you seeing the name of the last
button pressed? In your server-side code?

Cheers
Ken

Not as far as I know. The easiest way is just to create a loop to set all of the controls values to "". You'll probably have to use a typeof statement to come up with specific clearing methods for different controls, but I don't think there is an automatic way to reset the page. I could be wrong though... Jeff Levinson >-----Original Message-----

Okay, how do I write a page with a form so that when I click Submit, the following happens? 1. The data is submitted (of course) 2. The form is cleared (what I've tried results in the form being cleared first, resulting in an empty submission), and 3. The cursor goes back to the start of the form, ready for more input (kind of like how Google puts the cursor in the search box at the start).

I have an upload file input as: <input id="MyFile" style="width:300px" type="File" runat="Server"> This works fine, but I find that if my page doesn't pass validation during postback, the page comes back with all the data intact, except for the upload object. The text box for "MyFile" (my example) is always cleared. Why is that and is there a way to stop that from happening? Thanks,

PHP Pros: I have a simple html form that submits data to a php script, which processes it, and then redisplays the same page, but with a "thank you" message in place of the html form. This is all working fine. However, when refresh the browser, I get the following message displayed: "The page you are trying to view contains POSTDATA. If you resend the data, any action the form carried out (such as as search or online purchse) will...

Hello, How can you clear session variables when a reset button is pressed? I thought I might be able to do something like: <% If request.form("Reset") = "Reset" then Session("variable") = Null %>

Hello everyone. I have a simple problem which can be solved quite simply, I am just going about it the wrong way. I would like to wipe every row from within a named table, but I am not too sure how to do it. Each of these rows, are part of a JavaScript Object, which is bound to the table by objectName.bind('idOfTableToBindTo'). I have tried to destroy the objects themselves, but they still remain. Perhaps I am doing something wrong......

Situation: User submits a form, gets a page returned. User clicks the "reload button." Normal result: Browser asks to confirm re-submitting of the form data. That's not what I want. What I want is behavior like what Wikipedia does, as well as vBulletin forums and other nice php-based sites: Situation: User submits a form, gets a page returned. User clicks

I feel like a fool for asking this; seems like I would have had more luck with Google, but alas... This is a little baby bit of code that a friend cooked up over a year ago. My problem is simply that hitting enter doesn't really submit the input. It just reloads with a cleared form. My desired effect is for hitting the Enter key to have the same effect as clicking the Submit button. Here's the code:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
