Slow ASP Page need GIF to Show

I have a basic asp page running that is very slow it has to crunch some info
and when a user hits submit it can take a minute or more for a response. So
what I did was call a second page that should show a gif that is asking them
to be patient. Unfortunately this never shows (See below). I have tried
other ways as well, but I have been unsuccessful in getting the gif to show.
This has to be simple but I'm not a skilled asp developer so I don;t know
how to do it. Anybody have any ideas?
<img src = "graphics/clockT.gif" />

<%Response.Redi rect "aspTraceOut.as p?host=" & Request.QuerySt ring("host")%>

Hi Paul,

You could try to set the buffer to true and jot a Response.Flush after
the image, that way the page forces the buffered output to the
browser. Like this:

<%Response.Buff er=True%>
<img src = "graphics/clockT.gif" />
<%Response.Flus h()%>
<%Response.Redi rect "aspTraceOut.as p?host="
&Request.QueryS tring("host")%>

HTH,
- Alex

Hi, I created an image gallery which displays 63 images in a slideshow. The problem is that the show was slow because each image loaded one at a time during the show. No problem right? I just did a preload script. But then the user has to sit for 5 minutes waiting for 63 images to download! My images are about 640x480 and average 100kb. Is...

The following function is way too slow. If anyone has any suggestions about how to speed it up, I'd be grateful for them. We have to call this function 36 times on one page, and I think each time it takes half a second, so it adds up to maybe 18 seconds, which is a lot when you're showing software to a client. The reponse we get is "Why is it...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
