Connect to IMAP or POP

!TG
I'm looking for something that should be simple.
What I want to do it just connect to an IMAP or POP server and see how
many unread messages there are and display that number.
Does anyone know how to do this?

Using JMail, installed with my site provider:

<% @LANGUAGE=VBSCR IPT %>
<%

Set pop3 = Server.CreateOb ject( "JMail.POP3 " )

pop3.Connect "username", "password", "mail.mydomain. com"

Response.Write "You have " & pop3.count & " emails in your mailbox!"

pop3.Disconnect

%>

Hello, I would like to access (open) my remote IMAP Mailbox with the imap_open() function in PHP Version 5.0.4. The Mailbox is located at the german provider freenet.de. The imap_open() function does not produce an error message as you can see below. But when I call the imap_headers() function the warning message mentioned in the subject as well as below is returned.

I can't get PHP to connect to DB2 on the same server. I'm running both Apache/PHP and DB2 on Mandrake Linux 9.2. I didn't compile PHP; just installed what appear to be the appropriate RPMs (I don't like to compile/install and ruin RPM dependencies; I've seen the documents which say to build PHP "--with-ibm-db2=/home/db2inst1/sqllib"): unixODBC-2.2.6-4mdk libunixODBC2-2.2.6-4mdk php-mysql-4.3.2-3mdk

I've been trying to implement this script, it polls an IMAP inbox for unread messages and displays the sender and subject in a scrollable window using Tkinter. However, when I try to change the search parameters on line 55 from 'unread' (UNSEEN) to 'read' (SEEN), the tkinter window doesn't even pop up anymore. Any idea how to change the parameters of this program and yet still keep it functional?

Hi, Is it possible to open concurrent connections using Net::IMAP::Simple library ? My IMAP server allows 4 connections per ip, so I am having following problems while using Net::IMAP::Simple and Net::IMAP::Simple::SSL libraries: 1) The method new returns a valid connection even on 5th try, though the login fails as it looks like IMAP->login somehow knows that 5th object is not valid..Is it possible ? 2) Somtime, the script fails at the...

I want to be able to allow people to check their email from my PHP online application. Given only the users 1) email address, 2) username (if applicable) and 3) password - how can I auto detect a remote IMAP/POP3 server so that I can connect and fetch mail for the user. (Ultimately, I don't want users to have to know what the IMAP/POP3 server name / port is .... I would like to auto-detect all of that). At first I thought I could use...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
