I'm working in PHP, but am also using JavaScript, so perhaps there is
a better way to do this using more PHP code......
I setup a search screen for my database, the user enters data and
submits a form via POST
From that I get a results list screen, based on data I submit via a
form from the search screen
In the results list screen, I have a button next to each record for

I have a largish data set (1000 observations x 100 floating point
variables), and some of the of the data are missing. I want to try a
variety of clustering, neural network, etc, algorithms on the data,
and to keep life simple I want to reduce the dimensions of the matrix
so that I have no missing values, since not all the algorithms are
able to handle them and there is sufficient redundancy in the
variables that I can afford to lose...

In the context of LATEX, some Pythonista asked what the big
successes of Lisp were. I think there were at least three *big*
successes.
a. orbitz.com web site uses Lisp for algorithms, etc.
b. Yahoo store was originally written in Lisp.
c. Emacs
The issues with these will probably come up, so I might as well
mention them myself (which will also make this a more balanced

A year or two back I needed a search script to scan thru HTML files
on a client site. Usual sorta thing. A quick search turned up a
neat script that provided great search results. It was fast,
returned the hyperlinked page title, filename, and the body txt (30
preceding and following words) in context with the search word
highlighted. Excellent.!
See it working at: http://www.ipt.co.za
Just search for "firearm"

Hello,
I have set this script up to add paging to a search results page. Which on
the first page works fine. I calculates how many pages there should be
depending on the number of results returned from my search and how many
records I have set it to display per page. All great so far, HOWEVER.....
When you click the next link to see the next 10 results on the next page, it
just dumps the search details and pulls up all the records in the...

Using VB.Net, I would like to retrieve the currently logged in user's DN
from Active Directory. Alternatively, if, using WindowsIdentity, or
something similar, I would like to get the user's full name that is found on
the Workstation Locked screen between the ( )'s.
Does anyone know how to do that? The only constraint: no use of
ActiveDS.dll permitted by the design.
Many thanks!

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
