I would like to know how to build a content manager, where do I begin

Before writing a content manager, you must first decide what it's actually going to manage..... once you've done that, your next step is to decide on a layout (once you've got that down, you can begin working on the backend to it).

As an example, take a look at ASPPortal;

http://www.darkfalz.com/Scripts_Details.aspx?pstID=1093

That should give you a head start into building your own.

Wow. That's as easy to answer as "I'd like to build a rocketship,
where do I begin?"

Start with the same process as any other programming project. Develop
a set of specifications, and plan the project before you even think
about code. Ask the hard questions, like "What content do I have?",
"Who will be using this?" and "Why the hell would I spend all that
time writing something I can just buy?"

Then research existing content management systems and see if what you
want is already available.

Hello all, I'm sorry for the long post, but I think it's better if I'm as detailed as I can be so that I don't make a mistake in my choice and so that there's a clear understanding of to what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a content management system to use on a site (http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com) that I help to moderate. Unfortunately (as I have discovered), there are literally hundreds of CMS's to choose from, so I am...

Does anyone know for sure, or is anyone using, Content Manager 7.1 with a DB2 8 databae on Unix? Our content manager 7.1 to 8.2 upgrade has been put on hold until after end of year, and I need to get off of DB2 7 before it is desupported if at all possible, but I haven't been able to get a definitive answer (only inference from IBM website) on the combination. Thanks

Hello, I applogize in advance for my lack of understanding and the lack of information I'm about to provide. I am out of my element and I'm hoping that someone here can help point me in the right direction. I have a customer who has images and index data for those images. I would like to extract the data and load it into a SQL Server database and I would like to extract the images and store them as tiff or jpeg files.

I have an aspx page that is sending pdf files to client browsers: it uses a filestream to read the pdf file and response.binarywrite to send content to the browser. This has worked great for years in IE, Firefox and Opera on windows, and it works on a Mac with Firefox and Opera. But this fails in Safari with the generic message "A network error occurred while accessing this document". Here is a link to try out ...

I have a VS 2008 ASP.NET webform that has a reportview tag on it, accessing an .RLDC report in local report. The columns for the report are essentially: Month Item #1 Item#2 Item#3 I would like to add a checkbox or dropdown control to the .RLDC and have Item #1, Item #2, or Item #3 display conditionally based on a checkbox being clicked or a dropdown value being selected.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
