Recently, one of our database's mdf and ldf was corrupted. We were able to
bring back the database with the capability of importing and querying the
data. However, the data is not the full list. Some of the data are still
missing because the tables we want still has sone 'chain mis linkage' error
when we did a DBCC checkdb/checktable. DBCC couldn't fix those errors
either. We're pretty sure that there are some data still burry under the...

Hi All,
Does anyone know of a place where a corrupted mdb(front-end) can be
sent and have that place be able to tell me what got corrupted within
the db?
Here's the issue;
All pc's are WindowsNT on a Novell network using Office97 Pro. I built
a db application(work distribution and log app) which has been running
in this environment for more than a year, its a front-end/back-end
setup using UNC for its pathing, both ends get compacted...

Hello all,
This is going to be a rather lengthy "question".
I have an Access 2k database, separated front end/back end. Front end
copies are on about 30 workstations and used frequently during the
work day. The backend has a table called CLIENTS with approximately
6000 client records. Changes to data in the table are made via a
frontend db Form which has CLIENTS as its record source.

Thanks for the many responses to my original posting on 2/13 in which I
asked for help about record corruptions which were occuring in a Access 2k
table. After reading, printing and reading again all these postings, it was
clear that the first thing I needed to do was double check that all
computers had the latest version of msjet40, and that all Office updates
were applied.
After rechecking computers, I found several that did not have...

HELP! My database is suddenly corrupted. My computer was acting funny
(very sluggish) and was shut down. Access had been already been closed down
but computer was acting very slow , so perhaps it was still open. I am now
getting a "The data base ... is corrupted and needs to be repaired" error .
I have made copies of the corrupted database so that I could try to repair
and still have a corrupted copy available. When I try to repair , it...

hi,
I have one program runs fine on my i386 linux box but get the "glibc
detected *** corrupted double-linked list" error on the x86_64 linux
box. Please help me to figure out if it is my program's problem or the
library's problem. The libraries I am using is the boost and stl. The
original program is quite long and I shrink it short and still able to
duplicate the error. Basically, I first create a priority queue and
after several round...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
