WAP, ASP engineer required - London

Hi,

at the company I work for we need to hire in London a WAP ASP engineer
to assist in ongoing product developments and maintenance of WML and
SMS driven applications and reporting systems. This will be achieved
with database driven ASP and WML development and the use of existing
management interfaces.

You should have experience of SQL Server database design and as
optimisation and data mining will be an integral part of this role
experience in this area too.

ASP/SQL development to provide and extend mobile entertainment
services, design and development of applications using ASP/SQL to
tight deadlines, online (WAP/Web) service development the ideal
candidate will be technically minded and have experience in SQL Server
database design and data mining, ASP or a strong background in
equivalent dynamic Web technology (PHP/Perl/etc), knowledge of IIS/SQL
Server management/configuration, experience with mobile technologies
such as WAP/WML.

Please contact me to discuss further on 0044 (0) 7952 145 127 or email
ja********@hotm ail.com

Many thanks,
James

p.s. it is not my intention to forward this as spam. i am a
technically minded person and simply need to hire someone who
understands wap technologies.

If you're so technically minded then you may understand a certain reluctance
by people getting in touch with you via either a Hotmail email address or a
mobile phone number!! I certainly wouldn't.
A pukka company email address and/or a landline telephone number would be
far more impressive.
Not that I'm looking for a job; the above is just FWIW and my 2p.

Dear hotmail guy,

Your contact point does not impress me. Why would I want to do work for
someone that can't have a legit email address?

I am trying to setup a field validator and tried using the control to validate set to a dropdown list box but did not seem to work. Is there anyway to set this up or do you need to use client side validation? Thanks -- Paul G Software engineer.

I'm sorry to keep harping on about this one, but it is really quite important for me to be able to list _all_ required assemblies in my Help About box. Herfried kindly posted some code before that lists _loaded_ assemblies and their version, but I have one assembly that is not loaded until the user has done something quite specific in the program, and I need to list this one too. Other applications seem to manage it, so I wonder how it can...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
