Stopping secure pages appearing in history

Hi All

I know this probably sounds like a newbie question, but I was under the
impression that secure pages (https) don't appear in the history/address bar
history list - this appears to be incorrect?

Should I really be putting some form of expiry command at the head of each
of these pages if I don't want casual users to see them?

I use Classic ASP so is it better to use a command via this lang or the old
META methods?

Depending on which is the best, what are these commands?

Thanks

Robbie

Well for any secure pages I generally would sure that a session variable
were OK before even being able to look at the page. And thus if the
session were expired such as 20 minutes or whatever after a valid user
were on that page then anyonen on that PC trying to go to that page
again would get kicked out to the login page.

I have the following in mind: I wanted to store all my( and my brothers and sisters) important document information such as birth certificate, SSN, passport number, travel documents, insurance(car, home, etc) document, and other...

Help, As part of my family history web site i need to get 150 pages of typed text into some format to display. It just text right now but I would like to add some graphics (photos) and make the text more friendly to read. I am thinking to divide it into smaller chapters and to format it something like a newspaper article. But just learning about HTML, 150 pages just seems like too greater task. Is there a shortcut or another way to do...

I have a page (http://www.something.com/) and a secure page (https://secure.something.com) and the secure.something.com points to http://www.something.com/secure/ All works ok, but, when I transfer to one of the pages on the secure directory all gets lost. First of all, I had to basically duplicate my web application assembly in the secure folder. I created a "secureWrapper" solution and I added the main web application as a reference,...

I have a test page http://www.files.maproom.org/00/12/q/w.html which almost does what I want. The idea is that, when you hover the mouse over one of the dates near the top of the page, it updates _both_ the appearance of the map, _and_ the text appearing in the iframes further down the page. I would like it to do this smoothly; but each time you select a new page, the browser window jerks down to the iframes (where the text was...

Hi Everyone, I have been asked to build a PHP application that calculates important financial information based on some user-inputted numbers and that will not allow the user to continue forward unless a certain percentage range has been met. To validate the numbers, I am considering using Javascript as opposed to having the PHP code validate the numbers because Javascript is faster (it is almost instantaneous because the validation...

Secure Socket Layer is very important and useful for any web application but it brings some problems too with itself. Handling navigation between secure and non-secure pages is one of the cumbersome jobs. When a non-secure page references a secure page with relative URL, the web server generates error until absolute URL with https prefix is used. On the other hand when a secure page references a non-secure page, the non-secure page will be...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
