ASP Access stored procedure doesn't accept leading zero

I'm pasing a zip code as a prameter to an Access stored procedure. In
Access the parameter is a text data type. It works for non-leading zero
zip codes but, apparently access (or ASP) is converting it to a value
first (dropping the zero) then sending that to my SP. Even if I use
cStr() to be sure the parameter is sent a string it still seems to drop
the leading zero. Any thoughts? Note: It needs to be a string for
canadian zip codes. Thanks!

I had 2 parameters in my stored procedure. If I put the "text" one
before the "long" one then it worked. Can't argue with success.

You need to supply te parameters in the same order that Access prompts you
for them when you test the saved query in Access.

I'm new to Access projects and SQL server and am not a veteran VB programmer. There's a cry for help! I'm attempting to print the current form on screen by using a command button which the user clicks once they have selected the desired record. The button calls a report which uses a stored procedure as its record source. The SP has 2 input parameters, one of which is a datetime data type. In the input parameters data field of the...

Hello - I need a good example of how to take a return value from a stored procedure and use it in vb code. I have an app that searches a database by city and state. If a user makes a typo, the info sent to the stored procedure makes the stored procedure fail. I want to be able to display a label indicating they should try again, if this is the case. I can't use row count, because the stored procedure doesn't get that far. What...

Running DB2 v7 UDB ("DB2 v7.1.0.93", "n031208" and "WR21333") on Windows XP, I am unable to find out why the "Build for Debug" option within Stored Procedure Builder is not enabled on Java stored procedures. It is enabled for SQL stored procedures. It is possible to "Build" and "Run" the Java SPs, it just isn't possible to click on the "Build for Debug" option. Thanks for any help in advance. Michael

Hello everyone, I'm writing you because I need help in something that's taking too long. I want to build a Stored Procedure to be accessed by an ASP page and I need that Stored Procedure to do a couple of things: 1.. Depending on parameters sent by the ASP page, do a SELECT statement to a table (tblX01) and if it returns ZERO records, the SP should insert some info into other table (tblX02) and if returns ONE record, it won't insert into...

Hi there, I would like to create a simple search form to allow users to search for a job number based on a number of parameters. I think I understand how to use parameteres associated with Stored Procedures with a data reader to add various parameters. However, if I have a stored procedure such as CREATE usp_SelectfromJobNumbers (@par1 datatype, @par2 datatype, @par3 datatype)

I am using VB.NET 2003 and SQL2000 database. I have a stored procedure called "INSERT_INTO_MYTABLE" that accepts 1 parameter (varchar(10)) and returns the identity column value from that table. When calling the stored procedure from VB.NET, in the CommandText, can I just say "INSERT_INTO_MYTABLE '12345'" instead of calling it with "INSERT_INTO_MYTABLE" then do the following : OleDbCommand2.Parameters.Add("@Account", SqlDbType.VarChar, 10)...

In my limited testing with FF 2, IE 6 and Opera 9 when I divided a positive integer, that is less than 100, by 100 I get a leading zero in front of the decimal point. For example 80/100 gives 0.8 This is what the server app is expecting a leading zero (it does indeed fail without it). Do I need to do anything to ensure the leading zero is there?
